Konkurrencekraft og innovation i fokus. #VLDøgnet leverer altid varen - og det gjorde konferencen også i går. 👉 Ud over fantastisk networking i mødet med nye og kendte ansigter (shout out til Anja Monrad, der ud over at være viceforperson i VL - The Danish Management Society's bestyrelse også er ‘vores egen’ bestyrelsesforperson i Trifork), var de vigtigste nedslagspunkter for mig: 👉 De geopolitiske spændinger bør ses som en kamp ‘innovationsøkosystem mod innovationsøkosystem’ citat Anja Dalgaard-Nielsen, Vicedekan Copenhagen Business School Man kan argumentere for at det ikke er nyt (perioden under den kolde krig var også præget at dette), men det er en genfundet og intensiveret slagmark 👉 Og mens Europas fokus i disse år i høj grad er på kapital til innovation, kunne Roelof Salomons fra BlackRock konstatere ‘There is no lack of capital, there is a lack of predictability’. Kapitalallokering fryser, når multiple risici rammer samtidig og til dels er systemiske. Så opgaven er ikke at finde kapital, men at lægge så meget forudsigelighed som muligt ind i en strukturel volatilitet 👉 Hvor står den enkelte topleder i dette? Peter Halling, CEO ALK havde et forfriskende enkelt (enkelt er ikke simpelt!) take: Skær gennem støjen og husk strategien. Fokusér på dét, der forbliver vigtigt i eksekveringen af strategien på trods af de eksterne faktorer. Hvis man som leder reagerer på enhver ‘mikroaggression’ fra markedet og omverdenen, bliver der meget strategisk slinger i valsen. Line Christa Amanda Sørensen hat dies geteiltYesterday I met a hero. I don’t have many heroes, but General David H. Petraeus, US Army (Ret.) is one of them. I had the privilege of meeting David after his talk at our annual #VL leadership conference. What makes leaders like David exceptional is not only an extraordinary career — four-star general, former CIA Director, and now investor and strategic advisor — but the ability to lead with clarity in highly complex and high pressure environments. A few reflections I took away: 👉 Great leaders communicate intent with clarity — especially when complexity increases 👉 Strong organizations build adaptability before they need it 👉 Execution and accountability still outperform buzzwords and endless strategy slides 👉 Trust is built through consistency, competence, and calm under pressure David's leadership approach is a reminder that leadership principles transfer across sectors — from #defense and #intelligence to business, technology, and #investing. Line Christa Amanda Sørensen hat dies geteiltIt was Mother’s Day yesterday - and I celebrated one of a kind: 👉 The world’s best mum, aka mine 😊 Let’s face it: Mums have such an incredible impact on who we become as adults - in business and in our private life. They influence values and mindset, our self-perception, our capabilities and strengths. For women, mothers are also a mirror we can reflect ourselves in. My mum is not only a woman of boundless love and kindness, intelligence, wisdom and beautiful femininity - but also of fun, freaky sense of humor, tenacity, directness, and no-nonsense ‘go get’em’ attitude. I hope that this apple here did not fall too far from the tree 🍎 The picture is of my mum and dad before I came along in all my naughtiness - to illustrate that behind a great woman, there is often a great man - supporting her in wonder and amazement. In Anja we get a board executive with a unique international leadership experience from three decades in the tech industry - a strong growth acumen is the consistent throughout. Last winter I had the pleasure of joining VL - The Danish Management Society's podcast VL Insights together with Anja for a discussion on leadership under the slightly provocative headline: ‘Are Danish leaders the best in the world?’ Needless to say, we had a observations around both strengths and weaknesses in the Danish trust-based leadership model and growth strategies. Proud to see the Danish Pavilion showcasing Danish technology, innovation, and ingenuity to the international special operations community. Denmark may be a small country, but the level of capability, creativity, and commitment from Danish industry continues to stand out. It was a pleasure supporting the participating companies and learning more about the evolving role of Special Operations Forces in today’s security environment. The live demonstrations were absolutely awesome and a great reminder of the operational capabilities, precision, and innovation shaping the future battlefield. A particular highlight was attending the Special Leadership Breakfast and speaking with Admiral Bradley, the USSOCOM Commander, and the USSOCOM leadership team. It was also great to meet the Danish SOCOM delegation led by Major General Poul Ebstrup, Commander of Danish SOCOM, who shared valuable views on the future of SOF in a private setting together with Danish companies and our USSOCOM LNO. AI, geopolitik og accelererende teknologiske skift udfordrer både virksomheder og bestyrelser i et tempo, vi ikke har set før. Og netop derfor er netværk, videndeling og evnen til at lære sammen blevet en reel konkurrencefordel...... Fantastisk at se engagementet fra alle 950 deltagere - både ved plenum sessionerne, i breakouts - og ikke mindst i pauserne og over middagen.
