Proposed good articles

This star represents the proposed good content on Wikipedia.
This star represents the proposed good content on Wikipedia.

"Good articles" are articles that are better than other articles, according to many people. Good articles have criteria/requirements that the article needs to have. Read Wikipedia:Requirements for good articles for information about the criteria.

This page is to talk about articles to see if they meet Good Article criteria. When an article is posted here, it should have the {{pgood}} tag put on it. This will put the article in Category:Proposed good articles. Please only put one article in at a time.

Articles that are accepted by the community as good articles will have their {{pgood}} tag replaced with {{good}}. They are also shown on Wikipedia:Good articles and are put in Category:Good articles. Articles that are not accepted by the community as good articles have their {{good}} tag removed.

Articles that are better than the good article criteria can be proposed to be a "very good article" at Wikipedia:Proposed very good articles.

This tool can be used to find the size of an article.

Joining the talk

If you choose to join in the talk about good articles, it is very important that you know and understand the criteria for good articles. Discussing an article is a promise to the community that you have read the criteria and the article in question. You should prepare to completely explain the reasons for your comments. This process should not be taken lightly.

If people think that a user is not taking the process seriously and/or is commenting without reason, they may not be allowed to join in any more.

Proposals for good articles

[change source]

To propose an article for Good article status, just add it to the top of the list using the code, filling out 'page title' and 'reason' with your proposed page's title and why you think this page should be a proposed article: {{subst:Pgapropose|page title|reason}} ~~~~

You may have one nomination open at a time only. Proposals run for three weeks. After this time the article will be either promoted or not promoted depending on the consensus reached in the discussion.

  • check The article has gone through a few revisions, but not by different editors. (Check my sandbox history as well)

  • check The article is stable with no recent big changes or ongoing change wars.
  • check There are no templates indicating that the article needs improvement.
  • check Content from books, journal articles, and other publications is properly referenced.

The article checks out all the check marks from what I can see. I've simplified the article, expanded it, added more reliable sources and reworked some sentences. Everything done to the article has been to the best of my ability. If there's anything I've missed or there's words/sentences that can be simplified further please let me know. I truly value any constructive feedback! Thank you for your consideration as always! :) --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 20:00, 13 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Symphony No. 5 (Shostakovich)

Symphony No. 5 (Shostakovich) (change · talk · history · links · watch · logs · delete)

To preface, this is my first attempt at a good article. Per the GA Criteria, the page:

  1. Is about a notable subject.
  2. Is 13.5 kilobytes and covers the subject to a degree that is fairly complete.
  3. Has undergone multiple revisions, only be one editor.
  4. Has categories and several interwiki links.
  5. Has undergone some recent big changes, but it's probably okay to start this discussion while it reaches stability since I am the only editor. I am not planning more big changes.
  6. The article is mostly linked, there are some redlinks in the sources section, but these are not important.
  7. One photo, properly labeled.
  8. Does not need cleanup.
  9. Is well referenced.

Suggestions and improvements are welcome. Garsh (talk) 23:59, 5 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Let's do it! Contributor118,784 Let's talk Contributor118,784 Let's talk 18:55, 2 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Great, well-written article! Definitely Good article quality. However, please add citations for the uncited sentences in the "Form" section. Although I am glad you removed much of the WP:OR info from the corresponding English Wikipedia article, the present claims of violins coming in slowly in the 3rd movement, the 4th movement being different, key changes, etc. should still be cited. Peterlaxamazing (talk) 06:18, 3 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I changed those claims in the form section based on a source. Thanks for copyediting! Garsh (talk) 17:23, 3 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for citing the form section! One last thing: the article’s claim of the symphony’s first performance (in the lead) needs an inline citation. Also, I recommend mentioning the first performance again or with more detail in either the “History” or “Reception” section. Everything else looks good and meets the criteria of a Good Article. I am almost ready to Support promotion! Peterlaxamazing (talk) 07:25, 6 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Done, thanks! Garsh (talk) 02:34, 7 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

The Uplift Mofo Party Plan (change · talk · history · links · watch · logs · delete)

This is an album page that I have been working on for some time. After a break, I returned to it to fix some red links and do copyedits. I think this would be an appropriate Good Article. Readability checks put it at around 4th to 7th grade depending on the formula. I will make new pages for the red links still here soon, but thought that I would put it up as a proposal for people to take a look at the page itself and revise/change it. :) 🤘🤘 DovahFRD (talk) 14:51, 2 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
