Thank you

[edit]

Hi Code talker, thank you for correcting me on The Last Thanksgiving after reading the guidelines about external links I do completely understand how the added links were inappropriate (sorry first day), however I think the internal link to Erick Lorinc should remain.

Thank you for helping me be more informed. Judas34 (talk) 02:40, 27 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Judas34, the film The Last Thanksgiving was written by Erick Lorinc. You linked that name to Ericka Lorenz, an article about female water polo player who is a completely different person from Erick Lorinc. Wikipedia does not appear to have an article about Erick Lorinc.
I noticed that you made a similar error in a couple of other edits, where you linked a name to a completely unrelated topic, such as here, where you linked the Canadian organization the Business Council on National Issues to the article The Business Council, which is about a US organization based in Washington DC, and here, where you linked the non-specific phrase adopted by an American family to the article An American Family, about a 1973 TV documentary. Please be careful that when you create a link, that the target article is actually related to the use of the phrase in the source article, and is not just a coincidental use of the same words. Thank you. CodeTalker (talk) 03:26, 27 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting your support

Hi CodeTalker,

I need your help regarding the University of Cologne's entry: it contains several tags, including a COI tag. Iโ€™m wondering what can be done now to remove them? Unfortunately, it isnโ€™t specified exactly where the source references are missing. The English entry is identical to the German one, which is not tagged. And as I do not dare to make any further changes, the COI notice may no longer be necessary. Could you give me some guidance on what to do in such a case?

Thank you for your help.

Kind regards

@CodeTalker, I am sorry for disturbing uniformity among articles, but I unfortunately didn't realize I would cause problems on Wikipedia. This is an apology letter for all of this chaos, this is ThesisFun replying. I will try not to cause chaos again, also, am I the reason why all of the Toy Story movies' Wikipedia pages are locked? I'm that person you messaged in March. ThesisFun (talk) 11:57, 3 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

You're right that having an external link in the body of Klingon Language violates that policy, but I personally feel like this is an exception because it is very much necessary to illustrate the history of the wiki. Without that, I feel like there's a severe easter egg issue because, upon clicking the link, one would expect to be taken to a Wikipedia article, so being taken to a metawiki page is very jarring to me. We could also put it in the EL section but I think it's necessary to illustrate the history. Thoughts? (this is referring to this revert on Klingon Language for context)) ๐“•๐“ต๐“ธ๐“ซ๐“ต๐“ฒ๐“ท (Talk to me! ยท My contribs) 18:34, 6 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@FloblinTheGoblin I think the best solution is to change the link to a reference. See what you think of my latest edit on Klingon Language. CodeTalker (talk) 18:52, 6 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I think that works to fix the issue. Thank you! ๐“•๐“ต๐“ธ๐“ซ๐“ต๐“ฒ๐“ท (Talk to me! ยท My contribs) 18:56, 6 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
