مرحب ،

بكتب الطلب ده هنا عشان مدونة السلوك العالمية UCoC بتلزمنا إننا نحاول نحل القضية محلى ونكلم المجتمع قبل ما الميتا والمضيفين يتدخلوا لأن اللى بيحصل فى ويكيبيديا مصرى حالى فضيحة إدارية بكل المقاييس.

بأى منطق مشروع محترم بيسمع كلام مخرب عالمى مطرود من كل حتة؟ الشخص ده بيتحايل بعرايس جورب وبدل ما يتحظر، بنلاقى إدارى هنا بيمشى ورا كلامه ومنعه وبياخد منه بلاغات كيدية ضد محررين ملتزمين زيي! والأدهى من كدة إن ردى ودفاعى عن نفسى اتمسح من صفحة النقاش!!

أنا بتحدى أى حد يراجع سجل تعديلاتى ويطلع "غلطة" واحدة أو فعل تخريبى واحد ولانى واثق من كلامى بكتب الكلام ده،، مجهودى كله متمثل فى حماية الموسوعة من تخريبات ذلك المخرب وكونى ضد المشروع او معه ده موضوع ماله علاقة، والمخرب ده بيلعب على نغمة أهل الدلتا وليبى ومصرى عشان يستعطف الإدارة ويغطى على بذاءته وقلة أدبه اللى وصلت للأعراض! عيب أوى إننا نوصل للمستوى ده من الشخصنة والتمييز وتصنيف الناس حسب جنسياتهم.

كون انك بتعارض مشروع ويكيپيديا مصرى و حاطت ده على صفحتك, ده فى حد ذاته تحرش بالمشروع و المساهمين فيه بالكامل, و احنا بعكس مشروع ويكيپيديا العربى اللى بيمنع كتابة اى معارضه على الصفح الشخصيه, سايبينك براحتك.

كتابة كلام عن مشاكلك مع يوزرات تانيه مايخصش اليوزرات اللى بتكتب على صفح مناقشتهم, اسلوب تحرش منهم و منك.

المبالغه فى نقل الصفح هو كمان اسلوب هدام. الواحد فى فترته الاولى على المشروع بيحاول يبنى و يكتب مقالات جديده و يعدل, مش ينقل و يرجع تعليقات ناس مش عاجباه من غير ما يفهم النظام ماشى ازاى و من غير مناقشه.

بعدين انا مش فاهم ايه حكاية البحاروه و الدلتا و الصعايده؟ ايه الخناقه دى؟

@Esperfulmo، بخصوص رأيى الشخصى فى صفحتي، ده مجرد رأى وموقف فكرى ملوش أى علاقة بتعديلاتى اللى كلها هدفها مصلحة الموسوعة، وتسمية ده "تحرش" أعتقد إنه توصيف مش دقيق، لأننا بنتحاسب على أفعالنا وتخريبنا مش على آرائنا الشخصية، و إلا هنقفل باب حرية التعبير خالص.

بخصوص اليوزرات التانية، أنا مكنتش بتحرش بيهم، أنا كنت بحذرهم من شخص عليه منع عالمى وبيدخل يخرب، وده واجبى كمحرر. وقصة "أهل الدلتا والبحاروة" دى هو اللى بدأها عشان يشتت الانتباه ويصور الموضوع كأنه خناقة مناطقية، وللأسف الحكاية دى خلتك تاخد موقف ضدى وتصدق ادعاءاته.

كمان أنا حابب أفهم إيه "التخريب بالتحديد" اللى أنا عملته ويستحق حظر 6 شهور؟ ممكن لينكات المراجعات التخريبية الى عملتها؟ بالذمة كده، و لو فرضنا إن فيه سوء تفاهم أو غلط، مش المفروض الطبيعى يكون فيه تنبيه الأول؟ أو لحد حظر 3 أيام؟ لكن 6 شهور مرة واحدة دى مدة كبيرة جداً وما بتتحطش غير للمخربين اللى بيدمروا الموسوعة، و أنا تعديلاتى كلها قدامك مفيش فيها فعل تخريبى واحد.

يا ريت توضحلى إيه الجُرم اللى يستاهل المدة دى كلها، لأن عدم التناسب بين "الفعل" و"العقوبة" هو أول حاجة بيلفت نظر المراجعات الدولية (الميتا) وبيخلى شكل الإدارة المحلية يبان إن فيه تعسف أو مبالغة غير مبررة.

لكن بجد، مسح دفاعى وتظلمى من صفحة النقاش ده تصرف غريب جداً وميصحش، لأنه بيحرم الممنوع من حقه فى الرد وده بيخالف قوانين المؤسسة الأم، أتمنى تراجع القرار ده وتشوف لو فيه فعل سبب "تقني" يستاهل نص سنة منع، ولا الموضوع فيه مبالغة بسبب بلاغات المخرب العالمى اللى بيحاول يوقع بينا، وياريت تشوف ردوده واستفزازاته الطفولية الى تحت دى. أوس (مناقشه) 16:22، 17 مارس 2026 (يو تى سى)

Request for Comment: VisualEditor automatic reference names

Hi, I’m Johannes from Wikimedia Deutschland’s Technical Wishes team. Apologies for writing in English. رجاء ساعد في الترجمة للغتك! We are considering to work on Community Wishlist/W17: Improve VE references' automatic names and reuse. This has been a long-term issue for wikitext editors (see e.g. en:WP:VisualEditor/Named references) which has been among the top-voted wishes in several Community Wishlist Surveys. e.g. 2017. 2019. 2022 or 2023.

We would like your input on the solutions proposed on our project page: m:WMDE Technical Wishes/References/VisualEditor automatic reference names. We are considering several options, which can be combined if desired by the community.

• Changing the default pattern for automatically generated reference names (currently ":n", e.g. ":0", ":1"...) to use the reference type instead (e.g. "book_reference-1").
• Providing a simple mechanism for communities to configure a different default name.
• Generating automatic reference names based on the domain name (if it’s a web citation).
• Generating automatic reference names based on template parameters (e.g. "title" or "last"+"first") – defined by the community.

Please note: We will only implement a solution if there’s clear consensus among the global community. Our intention is not to build the perfect solution, but to find a simple and lean one that alleviates the pain caused by auto generated names. We are aware that some experienced VisualEditor users might prefer an option to manually change reference names in VisualEditor, but such a UX intervention is difficult to achieve across reference types and thus out of scope for our team, we can only improve the auto-naming mechanism. We are happy about suggestions for improving certain details of the proposed solutions. Any other feedback and alternative proposals are also welcome – even though it’s out of scope for us, it might still be relevant for future work on this topic.

Please support us interpreting consensus by clearly indicating your opinion (e.g. by using support/neutral/oppose templates). We are aware of en:WP:NOTVOTE. but given that we are facilitating this discussion with users from different wikis, potentially commenting in their native language, clearly indicating your position helps us avoid misunderstandings.

ليه تحتوى ويكيبيديا مصرى على مقالات اكتر من ويكيبيديا العربية؟

ويكيبيديا مصرى بتتطور بالطريقة اللى تناسب مستخدميها و طبيعة اللغة نفسها. مافيش فايده حقيقيه من مقارنة الأرقام بين نسخ ويكيبيديا المختلفه، علشان كل نسخة ليها مجتمع محررين و طريقة تنظيم محتوى مختلفه.

كمان المصرى (Masry)، زيّه زى الدارجة (Darija)، لغة ليها قواعدها النحوية الخاصة و طريقة تعبير مختلفه عن العربى. علشان كده طريقة كتابة المقالات و تنظيمها ممكن تكون مختلفه. ده ممكن ساعات يعمل عدد مقالات اكبر أو شكل مختلف للمحتوى.

مسألة الوصول للمحتوى (accessibility) بتختلف من مجتمع للتانى. بعض الناس بيلاقو المصرى اسهل فى القرايه و الفهم، فالمحررين بيحاولو يطورو المقالات بشكل يخدم القراء دول.

Action Required: Update templates/modules for electoral maps (Migrating from P1846 to P14226)

Hello everyone,

This is a notice regarding an ongoing data migration on Wikidata that may affect your election-related templates and Lua modules (such as Module:Itemgroup/list).

The Change:
Currently, many templates pull electoral maps from Wikidata using the property P1846, combined with the qualifier P180: Q19571328.

We are migrating this data (across roughly 4,000 items) to a newly created, dedicated property: P14226.

What You Need To Do:
To ensure your templates and infoboxes do not break or lose their maps, please update your local code to fetch data from P14226 instead of the old P1846 + P180 structure. A list of pages was generated using Wikimedia Global Search.

Deadline:
We are temporarily retaining the old data on P1846 to allow for a smooth transition. However, to complete the data cleanup on Wikidata, the old P1846 statements will be removed after May 1, 2026. Please update your modules and templates before this date to prevent any disruption to your wiki's election articles.

Displaying پ چ ڤ using template:DISPLAYTITLE

I would like to officially request to use the template:DISPLAYTITLE^(en) to display page titles with the special characters پ چ ڤ when needed while keeping the pages titled with the corresponding characters ب ج ف.

I'm gonna ask the technical village pump on the English Wikipedia.

Currently, the template only works if we want the style be changed while displaying the same text, not modifying specific characters with chosen ones.

Using special characters in page titles prevents them from getting indexed by search engines.

Using template:DISPLAYTITLE to substitute three characters

Hello all. I'm asking something for the Egyptian Arabic Wikipedia.

We can't use the template:DISPLAYTITLE^(arz) to change characters in the the title, specifically three chosen ones: ب to پ;‎ ج to چ;‎ ف to ڤ.

Why the aforementioned three characters and for which purpose?

1. In the Egyptian Arabic language, we often need to write loanwords which contain common foreign phones not existing on basic Arabic keyboards.
2. Search engines don't index pages if they have non-basic characters in their titles, so we are forced to awkwardly title them with the basic characters and throughout the article spell the word properly.
3. We don't need this template to change the whole title or display another title instead of how the page is actually titled, only optionally change the three corresponding characters as needed: e.g. اسبانيا to be displayed with the title اسپانيا;‎ جاكسون to be چاكسون.

These characters have been used already in print books for over a century and children are already familiar with them.

Esperfulmo DISPLAYTITLE cannot change characters except lowercasing the initial character and characters in the namespace. You would have to get a developer to change mw:Manual:$wgRestrictDisplayTitle to false for the Arabic Wikipedia, but then any title could be changed to anything and you may get many unwanted changes where copy-pasting a page title to a wikilink gives a broken link. Maybe you could make some sitewide JavaScript to change the characters in the browser of the user. PrimeHunter (talk) 19:09, 4 May 2026 (UTC)

Thanks for your answer. It's the Egyptian^(arz:) Arabic Wikipedia, not the Arabic^(ar:) Wikipedia. Do you think it's possible to restrict the template's use to administrators only to avoid vandalism? --Esperfulmo (talk) 19:23, 4 May 2026 (UTC)

Esperfulmo An edit filter could attempt to only allow addition of DISPLAYTITLE for administrators but it has many other valid uses (at least in English) so it doesn't sound good to me, and I still doubt the developers would allow a change of wgRestrictDisplayTitle. A local solution is technically possible without changing MediaWiki globally, but it needs an Interface Admin. The idea is not modifying DISPLAYTITLE itself. Instead, a template could store an alternative Egyptian spelling like اسپانيا, then a small sitewide JavaScript gadget would replace the visible page heading for all readers while keeping the real page title unchanged for search indexing and links.

But this requires editing MediaWiki.js or Gadget pages. Both require Interface Admin rights, which we currently do not have. So templates alone are not enough for a public solution visible to everyone. Still, there is an important risk, any user who can edit a page could add the template and change the displayed title visually. -- Maher Asaad Baker (مناقشه) 04:11، 15 مايو 2026 (يو تى سى)

السلام عليكم و رحمه الله و بركاته و انا بكتب مقالات عن لاعبين كورة قدم خدت بالي ان تصنيف:مدافعين كورة قدم مش موجود بعد ما عملته قولت اتأكد من اني معملتش غلطه و عملت تصنيف موجود قبل كده بعد مراجعه التصنيفات في لغات تانيه لقيت ان التصنيف موجود بس بأسم غريب شويه علي اللهجه المصريه تصنيف:لاعبين كوره قدم دفاع و طبعا علشان ادمج بينهم صعب علشان مش عندي الصلاحيات اللازمه علشان كده بقترح ان يتم دمج التصنيفين و خصوصا ان التصنيف المرتبط باللغات التانيه و بويكي داتا فيه حوالي 4277 صفحه مرتبطه بيه فصعب ان يتنقلو يدوي طبعا الامر راجع للاداريين في القرار ده Ahmedsayedsa (مناقشه) 13:51، 14 مايو 2026 (يو تى سى)
