After I saw Quincy Jones with Ludacris on 106th and Park earlier this week, I grew a newfound love for his work which has spanned more than six decades. I am really excited about his latest project, “Quincy Jones’s Q: Soul Bossa Nostra”. I also love to see today’s musicians paying homage to those who have come before them.
In case you haven’t seen it, here is the new video from Ludacris, Naturally 7 and Rudy Currencewho pay homage to the legendary Quincy Jones. Luda originally sampled this track with his song “Number One Spot” and now, he’s back putting his twist on “Soul Bossa Nostra”.
Jennifer Hudson not only showed off her vocals, but her new body during a performance for Tina Fey at the 13th Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in Washington, D.C. Check out the video of Jennifer Hudson performing Aretha Franklin’s classic RESPECT, just looking fabulous in her little black dress.
Does it matter if you like Rihanna’s music or not, probably not because baby girl has nine number ones under her belt. She is the most popular female singer at this point, having the most #1 pop hits since 2005 when Billbaord started using surveys to contribute to the Hot 100 data. Just to clarify Rihanna has the most #1 since 2005. The most #1 hits by a single female artist is Mariah Carey with 18, three more #1 hits and Mariah will take out the Beatles for the most #1 ever.
Look at the chemistry on the set…Check out the video for What’s My Name ft. Drake, this song just made history for Rihanna. BTW, this is a song I like. I like Rihanna the most when she stays true to her Barbadian roots. Continue Reading…
Kanye West is mad at the Today Show for there theatrics, but I am mad at Kanye West for his. First of all George Bush is using Kanye West as an escape goat. I can name several other low points of his administration other than the comments from a rapper on a telethon. Secondly, Kanye West didn’t call him a racist, he said, “Gorge Bush didn’t care about black people.” We all felt the sameat the time.
Now on to Kanye West, there is a gap between the way he views his actions and the way his actions come across. He is constantly explaining himself to the media, but he’s constantly being misrepresented, or so he says. Kanye West is upset with Matt Lauer and the Today Show because when they asked him about Taylor Swift and George Bush, they played a clip of the incident while he was giving his explanation. A clip so that the audience, as well as Kanye West can see what he’s responding, too. Well this annoyed Kanye West so much that he had to say something about it, while telling the camera crew to be quiet so he can talk.
For Colored Girls just got some competition via Funny or Die, and it’s called For Stuffed Girls starring Wayne Brady. After seeing the real movie, I can appreciate some comic relief. Wayne Brady is back again, and my side really hurts from all the laughter. Therefore, I present to you, For Stuffed Girls.
Bloggers need to stop promoting some of these celebs all together. I hardly ever hear a star talk about the great things blogs have done for them or their career. So often blogs are bashed for being negative, yet, the celebs eat up all the free publicity blogs provide. I just find it ironic that celebs hate when blogs talk about the tacky fashion their trying to push on us, but then turn around and bash blogs for the tacky coverage of their tacky fashion.
Anyway, Kanye West is once again tooting his own horn, and going in on blogs for talking about his fashion choice. According to Kanye West blogs are trying to beat him into “regularness”. Watch the video, because Kanye West hits on some pretty important topics in music.
Oh my! Did any of you watch Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) last night. Well during the episode, the women had a conversation about some bedroom tricks. Some interesting things came up in the conversation, like Kandi Burruss has talk radio program called Kandi Coated Nights, where her mom is a special guest. The topics are let’s just say made for after hours.
During last night show of RHOA, I found some interesting tricks during the ladies’ discussion, but you will have to watch the video to see exactly what I’m talking about. This conversation just blew my mind, and Kandi’s mom was right there in the mix.
I have two questions, would you buy your mom one, and where exactly do you put the sugar?
I admit I didn’t want to watch the video of Jasmine Mans going in on Nicki Minaj until Necole Bitchie graciously transcribe the words so that I can read along. All I can say is wow, if you haven’t watch this video, you need to now. Poet Jasmin Mans wrote a poem entitled “Nicki Minaj” and all I can say is that she does not hold back. I agree with some of the issues Miss Mans brought up, but I do feel she was very harsh, considering Nicki Minaj is really the only contender in the ring right now.
Anyway, it was suggested that we expect too much from Nicki Minaj, and that Nicki can’t be all thinks to all people. Do you agree with that statement or are you more like Jasmin Mans and think, “this microphone is not a dildo so you are going to have to cum a little harder than that.” (Roger that)…
You trading you paper in exchange for you to be plastic, all Dolls will eventually mal-function
(I don’t even know why you girls bother at this point like give it up, it ‘s me I win you lose)
