id talks about Doom 3 commercial
Game Daily Biz spoke with Marty Stratton and Kevin Cloud, id's Director of Business Development and Co-Owner about their role in the creative process of Doom 3's TV spot for Xbox.
"We were working with [ad agency] Secret Weapon Marketing, and someone had the idea for an ad with people telling you 'you're gonna die.' The bizarreness of it struck us. With television there's so much noise -- and this just grabs you," Cloud commented."
The advertising firm behind the Doom 3 commercial was also behind the Nintendo DS teaser "Breathe," and the ESPN "Nimrods" spot. Kevin Cloud stresses that, for those who haven't seen the commercial, it isn't a miniscule snippet of a few in-game screenshots and some B- movie material; it's a heart wrenching, gut pounded 15 seconds of fear and awesome graphics.
