Morning Gas
Community News | 4/19/2005 | 5:49 PST - Pappy-R I actually figured on my theme getting busted on yesterday's quote from "Psycho", and you all came through like the fraggers you are with many railing the theme straight in the head. Nice! The theme for this week is "Movies that were/had remade/remakes" and while the remakes we've seen so far don't measure up to the classic originals, that's not always the case as you'll see in quotes through the rest of the week. Now as to who got our theme first, it was gangstaar taking the gold and the three phat bonus points. Points on the quote went to keshav for First, gangstaar in Second and viboobz gets Third. GG all!
Movie Quote:"I know I'm human. And if you were all these things, then you'd just attack me right now, so some of you are still human."Name that flick!

Morning Gas
Community News | 4/18/2005 | 5:25 PST - Pappy-R It's Monday and this week's going to be a hum-dinger! If you haven't noticed, I've been sorta/kinda MIA due to some Real Life (tm) shtuff that just seemed to gather and attack as one, but it's all been defeated and I've scooped it up and bagged it for pick-up. Now it's time to Quake and I'm cranking up some treats for y'all aside from our ongoing prize round for our "Name That Flick" feature. Buckle-up Buttercup!
Yesterday's starter for the week got few correct entries and not one for the new theme, but that's as expected so don't go feeling all dumb and start cleaning your ears with pointy sticks. The quote was from the 2002 version of the movie, "Rollerball" and I definately agree with those that said the original was better. Much! But back to the points, three went to keshav for First while laser snagged two for Second leaving the final point for viboobz in Third. GG all!

Quake 4 In The House!
Community News | 4/16/2005 | 5:38 PST - Jube Activision and Raven have released some teaser information and a screenshot from the upcoming much anticipated fourth game in the Quake series! As we've been told previously, Quake 4 will begin where Quake 2 left off, still at odds with the Strogg. Here's a snip of the game's synopsis, written by Raven's Eric Biessman.
Earth is under siege by an alien race. The Strogg are cybernetic warriors -- a mechanical frame and decaying body parts stabilized by flesh consumed in a systematic annihilation of other species and civilizations. In a desperate attempt to survive a Strogg attack on Earth, an armada of Earth's finest warriors is sent to take the battle to the Strogg home planet. Earth's initial assault force is nearly annihilated immediately, but one marine manages to infiltrate the base, bring down their planetary defense systems, and kill the Strogg's collective brain and leader -- the Makron. Earth assumed the destruction of the Makron would end it all, but it didn't.
That's where QUAKE II leaves off and QUAKE 4 begins.
The Strogg are quickly regrouping. However, with the Strogg's planetary defenses still destroyed, Earth's forces can deliver a full and final assault. This time, you're not alone. You are Matthew Kane, an elite member of Rhino Squad, and part of Earth's next invasion wave. An army of soldiers are fighting with you and an arsenal of weapons and vehicles are at your disposal in this heroic and epic battle between worlds.
See the Quake 4 screenshot in today's PQ Pic of the Day, and watch for the game to make an appearance at this August's QuakeCon event in Grapevine, Texas!

Morning Gas
Community News | 4/16/2005 | 5:19 PST - Pappy-R There's some Q4 buzz in the air today so I won't pretend you want to read this drivel past the "end of the week point totals", so let's get right to it. At the end of week two in our special prize round of the movie quotes it's still anyone's race. Yesterday's quote from "The Warriors" grabbed a whack of entries with folks fighting for the points as expected and some winners and losers were made. First in for three was keshav with laser right behind in Second while Crimson Pig scoops another one for Third. GG all! Now here's your weekly winners who will take points into next week.
keshav: 12 First!
laser: 6 Second!
Matariel: 5 Third!
Who's gonna come out on top? We'll get a little closer to that answer when a new week starts up tomorrow!
