Philip Parris Lynott (20. august 1949–4. januar 1986) var ein irsk songar, bassist og låtskrivar. Hans mest kommersielt vellykka gruppe var Thin Lizzy, der han var ein av grunnleggjarane, hovudlåtskrivar, solovokalist og bassist. Han var kjend for sin særeigne plektrum-baserte stil på bassen og for dei fantasifulle lyriske bidraga sine, inkludert arbeidarklasse-forteljingar og mange karakterar henta frå personlege hendingar og keltisk kultur.
Lynott vart fødd i West Midlands i England, men voks opp i Dublin hos besteforeldra. Han heldt seg nær mor si, Philomena, gjennom heile livet. Han fronta fleire band som solovokalist, mellom anna Skid Row saman med Gary Moore, før han lærte seg bassgitar og danna Thin Lizzy i 1969. Etter innleiande suksess med «Whiskey in the Jar», hadde bandet fleire hittar på midten av 1970-talet, som «The Boys Are Back in Town», «Jailbreak» og «Waiting for an Alibi», og vart eit populært konsertband som kombinerte vokal- og låtskrivarferdigheitene til Lynott med doble sologitarar. Mot slutten av 1970-talet starta Lynott ein solokarriere og gav ut to diktsamlingar. Etter at Thin Lizzy vart oppløyst, sette han saman og fronta bandet Grand Slam.
På 1980-talet fekk Lynott i aukande grad problem med narkotika, særleg ein avhengnad av heroin. I 1985 hadde han ein siste hit med Moore, «Out in the Fields», etterfølgd av den mindre hitten «Nineteen», før han døydde i 1986. Han er framleis ein populær person i rockeverda, og i 2005 vart det reist ein statue til minnet hans i Dublin.
