Fantasy

I love fantasy, sci-fi, and immersing myself in imaginative worlds.

Dungeons & Dragons

I nearly always play some sort of druid in my TTRPGs.

My current character is Fin, a firbolg nautical moon druid. I play him as an exaggerated version of myself.

Wanderhome

Wanderhome is an idyllic TTRPG about exploring the world and finding the place where you belong. It requires no GM, and is focused on shared storytelling and sociological conflict instead of combat. It’s delightful!

I built a little web app for generating random places and characters while playing.

Magic: the Gathering

I started playing Magic in 1994, after reading an article about it in the Providence Journal.

I currently play Merfolk decks exclusively, in Modern and Commander formats.

I don’t play in IRL paper format as much as I’d like anymore, but you can find me on Xmage and Arena.

Renaissance Faire

I dress up as a butterfly wizard.

I have a Gandalf-looking wizard hat with a ring of flowers around it, and butterflies that appear to float around it. I also have an awesome moss-covered staff I found in the woods that’s encircled with butterflies as well.

It’s simple, cute, and comfortable for a day of walking around.

My local RenFaire is King Richard’s Faire in Carver, MA. It’s awesome, but grossly over-priced. I’d love to attend the Faires in neighboring Rhode Island and Connecticut.

Halloween

My go-to Halloween costume for years was a unicorn onesie. It’s nice and warm, and makes the right kind of people uncomfortable.

But it’s also a bit too big in some places and too short in others, and the hood slips down over my eyes and is too thick, so it muffles sounds and makes it hard to hear.

Last year, I switched to a Cheer Bear costume.

It fits perfectly, doesn’t affect my hearing, and it still makes the right kind of people uncomfortable.
