Post Memorial Day Clean Up

POST MEMORIAL DAY CLEAN UP EVENT
JUNE 4, 5 & 7, 2026
The Friends of the Salt Lake City Cemetery will be hosting the annual Post Memorial Day Clean Up Event beginning the evening of Wednesday, June 4, from 6 pm to 8pm; Thursday, June 5 from 6 pm to 8pm; and the morning of Saturday, June 7, 2026, from 9 am to 11 am.
Each year, in observance of Memorial Day, visitors to the Salt Lake City Cemetery place potted plants, flowers, and other memorabilia around the graves of loved ones. Once the flowers and plants have died, they need to be removed. In previous years, with the assistance of over 200 volunteers, between 8 and 10 tons of recyclable and compostable waste have been diverted from the landfill.
Prior to starting volunteers will meet at the Sexton’s House located at 200 “N” Street. Individuals are advised to wear closed-toed shoes, work gloves, sunscreen, and bring drinking water.
This is a great opportunity for you to support our cemetery, enjoy the green space, meet neighbors, and contribute to the community.
Interested parties/groups can register here or visit The Friends of Salt Lake City Cemetery website for more information.
