The opening session of the face-to-face meeting of the Ghana Mutual Evaluation exercise took place on July 29, 2026 in Accra Ghana. In line with the GIABA processes & Procedures, the session advanced the process of post onsite engagement of the Mutual Evaluation. See some photos!
GIABA is an institution of the (ECOWAS) responsible for facilitating the adoption and implementation of Anti-Money Laundering & Counter-Financing of Terrorism.
- A Nigerian student, Amra Onize Salihu, from law, university of Abuja emerged winner of 9th Interuniversity Speech Contest on the impact of ML/TF in the West African countries, she emerged the winner after a fierce contest among anglophone countries in ECOWAS. See some photos...!
- GIABA opens 2nd seminar on preventing financial crimes & enhancing pub. finance management through parliamentary Public Account Committees in GIABA Countries in Accra. The representative of Ghana's Finance Minister, DG, GIABA, SG-WAAPAC addressed the Seminar's opening session.
- GIABA trains Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) on Advocacy in the fight against Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing. The Civil Society Organizations are to also avoid being abused for terrorist financing. The sensitization program brought members from the 15 countries of W/A.
- GIABA concluded the validation of the Guidebook on ML/TF through Public Procurement in her member states. The participants of the workshop reviewed the Guidebook and provided enriching feedback at the validation exercise. The workshop was in partnership with SecFin Africa.
