Account disabled (Lysdexia)
[edit]Aklapper told me to start a new ticket on T287609 but now my account’s disabled. Why do all of these accounts get disabled?! Lysdexia (talk) 23:24, 25 May 2026 (UTC)
- I guess that would be a question for @HakanIST. Best, —a smart kitten[meow] 08:54, 26 May 2026 (UTC)
- The account was disabled due to disruptive behavior. Feel free to review if you believe otherwise. HakanIST (talk) 09:27, 29 May 2026 (UTC)
Saying why the task wasn’t complete is disruptive behavior so you prevent me from the feature request and even reading of the tasks? Lysdexia (talk) 07:05, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- No, but off-topic ranting ("shitty abomination" etc) can be seen as disruptive behavior. Phabricator is not some a random internet forum; see Bug_management/Phabricator_etiquette. AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 14:41, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- Also, which other "all of these accounts" do you refer to? AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 14:50, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
The place to report bugs is where my sincere reaction and report about the place that wasn’t off-topic went. I spent like one hour of going thru the list past 100,000 reports. Your etiquette link doesn’t cover Hakan’s reaction which seems more like a coverup of fault. By “accounts” I obviusly meant the entries on this page when I wrote that. Lysdexia (talk) 23:27, 28 June 2026 (UTC)
- Discussing some software platform (Phabricator) is unrelated to "Collapse main menu (fka sidebar) by default for logged-out people" (MediaWiki), so it's off-topic per Bug management/Phabricator etiquette ("directly related"). Regarding "coverup of fault", please fully read Bug management/Phabricator etiquette. Thanks.
- (PS: I don't know why you chose to spent 0.036 seconds on each of the last 100000 tickets. Phabricator documentation is linked from the Phabricator frontpage if you are not used to Phabricator's search. If you have questions about Phabricator, this talk page is linked from the Phabricator frontpage.) AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 05:42, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
Account disabled (Jens Ohlig)
[edit]My account was disabled. Can I get it back? Jens Ohlig (talk) 09:16, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- I believe the fact that it's connected to my former work account (User:Jens Ohlig (WMDE) which is rightfully deactivated instead of my current one (User:Jens Ohlig) is also a problem. Can that be untangled? Thanks in advance! Jens Ohlig (talk) 19:27, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Jens Ohlig Hej hej, if you'd like to have a Phabricator account in volunteer capacity, I recommend to create a new Phabricator account. The disabled Phab account was an account used in WMDE staff capacity. If I understand correctly you are currently not WMDE staff, so re-enabling that disabled Phab account would be potentially misleading. AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 10:17, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
- I was talking to Jens about this yesterday and reasoned that, since there are other developers using one Phabricator account for both staff and volunteer activities, the previous staff usage hopefully shouldn’t be a problem… why is this different now? Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 20:43, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
- In general, I'd love to stop folks from using the same account for both staff and volunteer activities as it blurs any statistics based on contributor affiliation. In this specific case, the account is linked to an LDAP account with a WMDE email address and a SUL account ending in WMDE so it looks like a clear case of a Phabricator account used in WMDE capacity. AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 21:28, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
- FWIW, the e-mail address is still correct, as I use it as a member of the board at WMDE. It’s just the SUL account that changed. Jens Ohlig (talk) 13:13, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- That’s actually the reason why I wasn’t able to create a new account: When registering with my wikimedia.de address which I use for all my Wikimedia-related work, Phabricator tells me that the address is already in use. Jens Ohlig (talk) 23:19, 26 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Jens Ohlig Ah okay, that changes the situation quite a bit, I'm sorry! Alright, I re-enabled your Pahb account (and marked your indexed account in https://development-metrics.wmcloud.org/ as not being WMDE staff anymore - that's usually the manual work I'd like to avoid, hence my first reaction above). You will not be able to log into your Phab account via your connected WMDE SUL account though as it's disabled. I believe that you can still log in via your LDAP / developer account, or as a last resort use the Welcome Email function on your Phab profile page. After a successful login, please connect your non-WMDE SUL account to your Phab account on https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/settings/panel/external/ and please update the self-description in your Phab profile - thank you! AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 08:09, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

Account disabled (Tekneos and Junkyard1625)
[edit]Hello, I was working on filling out my Issue backlog on the Phabricator project for a tool I'm working on. This is the tool I'm working on: toolsadmin.wikimedia.org/tools/id/wd-act
It looks like both my Developer account (Tekneos) and an account I setup previously (Junkyard1625) on Phabricator (via Log In or Register with MediaWiki) are disabled.
I've been entering the tasks in using the Developer Account instead of the specific Phabricator account - not sure if that makes a difference.
Also not sure if it's relevant but I'm working at a library - not sure if that causes some kind of IP trip-up or something. Thanks in advance! Ancient9983 (talk) 19:23, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Ancient9983: Hi, sorry for that. I re-enabled Tekneos and added you to #Trusted-Contributors so this should not happen anymore. Also, I'd recommend getting rid of one of your two Phabricator accounts by disabling one of them (merging is not supported by the software). See the box on Phabricator/Help#Creating_your_account. --AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 19:30, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
- Perfect thank you! I'll disable the Phabricator-specific account and go with just the WM Developer account - thanks very much! Ancient9983 (talk) 19:34, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
Account Disabled
[edit]My account has been disabled. Some should kindly enable it for me. Thank you Tiisu Sharif (talk) 06:37, 6 July 2026 (UTC)

Account Disabled due to Potential Virus (chuiimuii_ofc)
[edit]Subject : Request to Restore My Disabled Phabricator Account
Chuiimuii ofc (talk) 13:19, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- Chuiimuii ofc (talk) 13:21, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Chuiimuii ofc: Hi, the last activity of your account in Wikimedia Phabricator looked like vandalism on a task, so I disabled your Phabricator account. Please elaborate why you think it should be re-enabled, and what has happened and changed since then. Some "virus" (?) is very unlikely a reason for some Phabricator account activity. Thanks, --AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 13:37, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- Chuiimuii ofc (talk) 13:57, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Chuiimuii ofc: Please stop adding signatures to this thread without any other text. Please instead answer what I wrote above. Thanks, --AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 14:03, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- I would like to add a small clarification regarding this incident.

During the last year I have been contributing to MediaWiki, I have never intentionally vandalized or disrupted any Phabricator task. Given my contribution history, it would make little sense for me to suddenly decide to modify a resolved task by changing its title and removing all of the tagged reviewers. From what I was able to determine afterward, I believe the activity was caused by a potentially malicious application that gained access to my PC while I was away. Unfortunately, I did not review or notice the changes made through my account until it was too late. I sincerely apologize for the behavior that occurred through my account. I fully understand that I am responsible for keeping my account and system secure. I have since taken steps to secure my computer, and I will continue to be more careful to ensure that an incident like this does not happen again. I respectfully ask that you consider my previous contribution history and the circumstances of this incident when reviewing my request. Thank you for your time and understanding Chuiimuii ofc (talk) 14:10, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Chuiimuii ofc: Hi, what makes you strongly believe that this will not happen again? Why do empty comments repeatedly get added to this thread (which only have a signature but no text)? Thanks, --AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 14:48, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
- I have terminated the main cause of the malware completely from my system and just finished installing a fresh windows operating system . Also the empty comments were keep getting added to this thread because I was using a mobile device for replying here and I was pasting my reply but it was not getting posted as it was written and resulted in an empty thread .
- Now after this I strongly believe that any of the above will not happen again and I request you to please restore my phabricator account . Thanks for your time and consideration

Lucyfediachambers
[edit]The user Lucyfediachambers is adding random emojis to tasks in phabricator. -- Gerges (talk) 10:50, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
- From memory, the wikidata people would need to confirm but I believe its not random and its related to how they manage/rate tasks. P858snake (talk) 11:02, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
- Have you tried to contact the user? They may have reasons. AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 11:04, 9 July 2026 (UTC)
Account Disabled
[edit]my account has been disabled i have work on wikidata and iam founder please remove disable on LDAP server Europepetrol (talk) 20:41, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
- Your creation of T431871 would have been the trigger for your account being blocked on Phabricator. A brand new account creating a task requesting special user rights without any attempt to fill in the template in with valid information looks exactly like spam. Your SUL account has never authenticated to the wikidata wiki, so your i have work on wikidata and iam founder statement could use some clarification as well. -- BDavis (WMF) (talk) 21:46, 10 July 2026 (UTC)
- @Europepetrol I disabled your account as you created a nonsense Phabricator ticket. Why should I re-enable your Phabricator account? How and for what exactly do you plan to use your Phabricator account? What does this have to do with "LDAP" at all? What does "founder" even mean? AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 09:27, 11 July 2026 (UTC)
