Some of the language used on this page can be complicated. This is because it is used by editors to talk to one another, so sometimes we forget. SMB Deluxe
[change source]Hello.
I would like to ask if this redirect page can be restored as a real article again (it used to be, check history) because other projects don't redirect to the original. There could have been good reasons though, so that's why I came here first.
Thanks! BluePixelLOLLL (talk) 15:01, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
- It was redirected by a sock puppet of a foundation-banned user, so I went ahead and put the article back. Thanks for bringing this up! Garsh (talk) 17:32, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
Who are "Zavier Pumpetch" and "Jeremiah Gutierrez"?
[change source]I have found these names on several articles here, but I cannot find any useful information about these people or reliable sources. Can someone fact check these things? ~2026-42962-11 (talk) 04:02, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
Help with draft
[change source]Some editors said that this draft has NPOV (Neutral Point Of View) issues, so please help balance it so that it can be moved to Mainspace.-Baangla (talk) 11:53, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
- This article has now been deleted twice through RFD. You have been given so much feedback on it and it has not been deemed appropriate for inclusion here. It is time to move on and stop sucking so much project time into this article. CountryANDWestern (talk) 13:45, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
Please suggest what to do
[change source]The page about 2025 India–Pakistan conflict is full of Original Research (OR) and uses complex English. Can I copy the English Wikipedia article about the same and simplify the English used?-Baangla (talk) 17:31, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
- yes, just make sure it complies with WP:CW. fr33kman 00:07, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
Operation Shaban
[change source]Operation Shaban uses complex English and so, a complex tag needs to be added to the top of that page.-Baangla (talk) 18:15, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
- So add it then. fr33kman 00:05, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
Using AI on talk pages
[change source]Recently, on Discord, the subject of using AI for comments and talk pages has come up a lot. Can I remind people that I did start a proposed guidance page at WP:AIDISCUSS, and now may be the time to reopen it? fr33kman 00:11, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
Removing the complex tag from a page
[change source]I have simplified every term in this page as per this list, so someone please remove the "complex" tag from the top of that page. I don't think I am allowed to do it myself.-Baangla (talk) 23:40, 10 August 2026 (UTC)
- I’m very confused: why did you remove the entire article and replace it with the lede from the English Wikipedia? Why did you remove the existing information? CountryANDWestern (talk) 23:55, 10 August 2026 (UTC)
- When you scanned the text using the readabilitycheck website, what was the score? Ravensfire (talk) 03:48, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
- @CountryANDWestern: I did what was advised here.-Baangla (talk) 03:59, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Ravensfire: I used this tool. It flagged "terrorists", so I replaced it with "militants" which has also been flagged red but "militant" is not flagged. Likewise, "aimed" is flagged but not "aim" and "paths" is flagged but not "path". I think that means those terms are acceptable.-Baangla (talk) 04:31, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
- That's not what I asked. Ravensfire (talk) 04:40, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
- I searched for the link to the "readabilitycheck website" but couldn't find it. Please post the link to it.-Baangla (talk) 04:42, 11 August 2026 (UTC)

- @Ravensfire: I told you earlier that I don't know how to use that website - that orange box blocks everything else. Please post instructions on how to use it.-Baangla (talk) 04:57, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
- How and where do I "Paste your text or body copy straight into the text box on the page."?-Baangla (talk) 05:00, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
- You mean - how do you copy a block of text and then paste it into another box? Um yeah. I give up. I regret replyng. Ravensfire (talk) 05:07, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
- How and where do I "Paste your text or body copy straight into the text box on the page." on the readabilitycheck.com website?-Baangla (talk) 05:13, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
- I finally used the "Desktop view" and pasted the text of the entire article. Only one sentence was flagged as "too long". I fixed it now -Baangla (talk) 05:26, 11 August 2026 (UTC)

Poorly worded or wrong interface message for Special link to non-existent user subpage
[change source]Following a link to a non-existent user subpage such as User:Mathglot/Sandbox gives the right top-of-page boilerplate message, apparently based on MediaWiki:Newarticletext, with some modifications to add strings like, "Before starting this page, please see m:Sub pages" absent from the basic message. So far, so good.
However, when a link is generated by a Special, such as (for me), Special:MyPage/Sandbox[blue always] to the same non-existent user subpage, clicking it should result in the same top-of-page boilerplate, but it does not. Instead, I see this:[but see note]
Wikipedia does not yet have a user page with this name.
If you are Mathglot/Sandbox, click start this page.
To contact Mathglot/Sandbox, go to User talk:Mathglot/Sandbox.
I don't believe Simple allows usernames with a slash character as part of the name, so this message is misleading at the very least. It apparently derives from MediaWiki:Noarticletext NS User, but either it is not adjusted properly to emit an appropriate message, or it is the wrong interface message entirely. Instead, I would emit something like this:
Wikipedia does not yet have a user subpage with this name.
Click start this page to create it.
To contact Mathglot about creating their[uses magic word] sandbox, go to User talk:Mathglot.
Note: if you already have a Sandbox subpage, the link above will not demonstrate the bad behavior to you, so you can use these links instead to observe it: Special:MyPage/Sandbox-999, Special:MyPage/Any old name here. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 22:18, 11 August 2026 (UTC)
