Autopatrolled

I hope you are doing well.
I would like to request the autopatrolled user right. I have been actively contributing to English Wikipedia by creating and expanding articles, primarily on notable government officials. To date, I have created around 10 articles, and I plan to continue creating well-sourced, policy-compliant content to help expand the encyclopedia.
I always strive to ensure that my articles are supported by reliable sources and comply with Wikipedia's core content policies, including verifiability, neutrality, and notability. Since my future contributions will largely consist of new article creation, having the autopatrolled right would help reduce the workload for the New Page Patrol by automatically marking my own new pages as patrolled.
If you notice any areas where I can improve my article creation or editing practices, I would sincerely appreciate your feedback and suggestions. I am always willing to learn and improve my contributions.

- Hi Cptabhiimanyuseven, it unfortunately looks to me that you've created this message using an LLM, which is enough for me to decline your request. Your recent creation Har Har Shambhu Shiv Mahadeva was taken to AfD for inappropriate LLM use as well. This doesn't meet the standard of work we expect from any editor, and is far below the standards for autopatrolled. Please stop using LLMs on Wikipedia; you are likely to face sanctions if you continue the way you're going. DYK error fixed
[edit]I'd strongly appreciate if you would restore the original hook for the TN Capitol article with the ASCE source, which discusses in depth how structural iron was new at the time. This is a repost of something I posted at the errors page, but since that discussion is effectively closed, I thought I might repost it on your talk page.
Sorry for failing to iterate what source I was referring to. But I must say, I'm puzzled by your logic, especially this quote also does not verify that the building was "" to use iron, just that it [structural iron] was new at the time, which is not a trivial distinction.
I know you're not arguing that ancient peoples were time traveling to the present day, stealing iron beams and trusses, and then teleporting them back to the bronze or iron ages. But anyone or anything that uses something that is "new" is, by definition, one of the first persons or things to use it. Bneu2013 (talk) 00:03, 8 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hey Bneu2013, I saw your message and was planning to reply on another page as well. I think the primary reason we're reading this source differently is that superlative statements of the "one of the first" variety have often run into issues on the Main Page before. RoySmith has a good essay outlining some of these past issues. It's because of this precedent that I tend to be much more wary in this regard than might be usual, and nothing short of a source explicitly saying that the Tennessee State Capitol was among the first to use structural iron would have assuaged my concerns. (And it did!) To answer your question, it does not unambiguously follow from the word new that something is "one of the first". (How new is "new"? - I largely agree with the underlying points of that essay; that's why I tried to keep it more broad. For example, I think there is a good chance that the capitol was the first building (but not structure) in the US to incorporate iron trusses as structural elements, but I wasn't able to verify this. Even if I was, I'd still be hesitant to include this. However, I thought inferring that the use of something described as "new" made it "one of the first" was obvious, but maybe I'm wrong. A similar example would be Henry Ford's first car, which I think most people would agree was a "new" technology in 1896. I think most people would probably agree that Ford was one of the first persons to own an automobile (but not the first). In the late 19th century, most people had never heard of cars, but now they are ubiquitous. The same is true for structural iron/steel. In the mid 19th century, iron as a structural (but not decorative) element was extremely rare and uncommon with the exception of maybe Britain (but still nothing compared to the present); whereas today the world uses about 1 billion short tons of steel annually for new construction alone. This relates to the concern I had with the replacement hook and why I think it was a violation of WP:DYKINT, although I do recognize you had to choose a new hook hastily. But I don't think it would have been accepted in the initial review process. In situations like this I would definitely recommend finding another interesting fact in the article. For example, I considered alternatives about the capitol being one of the oldest working statehouses or the fact that there are bodies entombed in the structure and grounds. - I don't really have any disagreement with what you're saying here, Bneu2013; it all seems reasonable. We appear to be mostly on the same page, just weighing our priorities differently. In the moment, I prioritized making the hook verifiable over making it (highly) interesting, and prioritized quickly fixing what I thought was an error over taking the time necessary to give the article a full reading to come up with new hook ideas. If it hadn't been on one of the most viewed pages on the Internet, I would have treated it differently. [edit]Hey TechnoSquirrel69! Thanks again for your feedback regarding my GA reviews, I really appreciate it. I did have a quick question I wanted to ask. I was granted Autopatrolled on a 2-month basis by Arcticocean on June 11. Due to that, it's going to expire at 00:00 on August 11. I was wondering if you might be willing to make it permanent? For your reference on this, I have brought 2 articles to GA status, and created 136 articles, including 12 with DYKs and one that's an approved but pending ITN/Recent Death. I intend to continue creating relevant, well-sourced biographies and as such would love to have the permissions to reduce the workload on New Page Reviewers.
