User:Xeroctic

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm a British user who edits in various parts of Wikipedia. I have a deliberately meaningless username (pronounced approximately /zərɒktɪk/ / zər-OK-tihk in British English), which is probably intended to be pseudo-Ancient Greek (which I do not know)

This account

[edit]

I created this account in May 2020, originally under the username CrimsonComputer, after my favourite shade of red and the topic area I would often edit in, but I renamed to my current username in October 2022 because I thought it sounded cringey (it is coincidentally similar to a username I used on an obscure website before joining this wiki). I became more active here since June 2023. I have no other accounts on Wikipedia; I had made several IP edits between 2017 and 2020 before creating this account.

Wikipedia activity

Usual areas I edit in include:

Less frequently, I may edit (or not as frequently as I used to):

While I have created several pages in mainspace (mostly Simpsons episodes or London Overground services), all of them were done as redirects.

Accounts on other wikis

[edit]

A lot of my editing experience on wikis comes from a small-ish wiki known as the Scratch Wiki (which has its own Wikidata entry but is only a subsection on this wiki), about the Scratch programming language, where I use the username Jammum (I previously used the username SausageMcSauce on the main Scratch website from 2019 to 2024 from switching accounts until deleting it), which I had edited since late 2018. I am a form of partial-admin there known as an "Experienced Wikian", but I slowed down editing since early 2024 to focus on Wikipedia and real life, with a few editing bursts since.

Some of my contributions on Wikipedia contain content that is not allowed on Scratch (specifically profanity and some nudity), so I do not mention this account on Scratch directly.

I also use the Xeroctic username on other wikis or wiki-like websites I edit less often: the Minecraft Wiki (minecraft.wiki), MusicBrainz, SecondHandSongs, OpenStreetMap, and Miraheze.

I also have an account on another wiki, unrelated to Scratch or Wikipedia, which I have decided not to associate with my Wikipedia profile, and is not under this username.
