I live right next to a newly locked-down suburb in Melbourne. I have canceled all plans for my 50th birthday. I’ll lock down again if asked. Why? Cos when I left London in March, the UK had 140 deaths. They now have over 40,000. I’d rather be safe.

Getting a lot of tweets from people denying the severity of Covid etc. Am now remembering that old saying - that arguing with a troll is like playing chess against a pigeon. It’ll knock over the pieces, shit on the board, then strut around as if it won.

If my doctor tells me to eat less cheese cos it lowers my cholesterol, I’ll do it. If my Physio tells me to swim more often cos it helps my back, I’ll do it. If the Chief Medical Officer has an opinion on how to deal with Covid, I listen. Cos they probably know more than me.
