Manage your site through Telegram

You can use WordPress Agent to create content, check stats, find domains, and manage your sites through a Telegram conversation.

Create and edit content

You can create and edit posts, pages, and media by describing what you want in plain language. For example, you can ask it to:

  • “Write a post about our new summer menu.”
  • “Update the About page to mention our new location.”
  • “Brainstorm post ideas based on my recent content.”

Generate and upload images

You can generate AI images or upload your own photos directly in the chat. For example:

  • Ask it to “Generate an image of a coffee shop with outdoor seating.”
  • Send a photo from your camera roll to your conversation to upload it to your site’s media library.

Check your site stats

Ask WordPress Agent for stats on any connected site. For example, send “Show me my stats” to see visits, visitors, posts published, and subscriber counts.

Find a domain name

Send a message like “Is yourgroovydomain.com available?” to check whether a domain name is available. WordPress Agent shows pricing and provides a link to purchase the domain on WordPress.com. Learn more about registering a domain.

Manage your sites

WordPress Agent includes tools for managing your connected sites. For example:

  • “Switch to my other site.”
  • “Take a screenshot of my site.”
  • “Search the web for free WordPress themes for restaurants.”

Email your WordPress Agent

You can send instructions to the WordPress Agent by email. To enable email access for the WordPress Agent on a site, follow these steps:

  1. Visit your hosting dashboard.
  2. Click the three dots () in the action menu next to a site and select Settings.
  3. Click the “AI tools” section.
  4. Toggle “Enable AI agent email address” on:
BERJAYA

Once enabled, the AI agent’s email address appears below the toggle. The address looks like agent+<unique-string>@post.wordpress.com.

Enabling email access also enables Post by Email. Turning the AI agent email setting off deletes the Post by Email address, so both Post by Email and the AI agent address stop working.

  • Add to contacts: Download a contact card (a .vcf file) to save the WordPress Agent’s email address as a contact.
  • Regenerate address: Invalidate the current address — for example, if you have shared it by mistake — and replace it with a new one. The previous address stops working immediately.

Send a message to the AI agent email address from any email account. The WordPress Agent acts on the site connected to that address and replies to the email account you sent from. For example, you can:

  • Forward an article you want to publish as a draft.
  • Send a list of changes to your About page.
  • Ask the WordPress Agent to check your site stats.

Understand rate limits

WordPress Agent has a daily message limit that depends on your WordPress.com plan:

  • Free sites: 40 messages per day.
  • Any paid plan: 500 messages per day.

When you reach your daily limit, WordPress Agent lets you know in the conversation. Free site users will receive a link to the WordPress.com plans page to upgrade.

Manage your preferences

WordPress Agent remembers your preferences across conversations. You can set communication style, workflow preferences, or personality adjustments through the chat.

WordPress Agent stores preferences in your WordPress.com account. There is no settings page to view or edit stored preferences. To change a preference, ask WordPress Agent in the conversation.

Use voice mode

On the Telegram mobile app, you can speak to WordPress Agent using voice messages instead of typing. WordPress Agent processes your voice message and responds in text.

Telegram and your data

Once you connect your WordPress.com account, WordPress Agent can access all WordPress.com sites associated with your account. Your user role on each site determines which actions WordPress Agent can perform.

Automattic has access to chat transcripts between you and WordPress Agent.
