I just did the normal online application and payment and got an appointment that was like in 6 months time. I just decided to travel on my old passport and do it in Nigeria. However a a couple of weeks later, someone told me to check as they were releasing new appointments. I checked and was amazed to get one in just 2 weeks time. Attended my appointment and that's it

Was this recently? I did mine in London 2 years just when a new guy took over and was fixing everything. I arrived at the High Commission at 10 and was out by 12. To my absolute shock, my passport arrived in the post 3 days later!

My visit before that was an absolute nightmare, took 2 full days at the embassy ,then I had to go and pick it up myself.
