Administrator activity policy update

Hello, Darkwind. This message is to let you know about a change to the administrator policy:

The administrator policy has been updated with new activity requirements following a successful Request for Comment.

Beginning January 1, 2023, administrators who meet one or both of the following criteria may be desysopped for inactivity if they have:

  1. Made neither edits nor administrative actions for at least a 12-month period OR
  2. Made fewer than 100 edits over a 60-month period

Administrators at risk for being desysopped under these criteria will continue to be notified ahead of time. Thank you for your continued work. — xaosflux Talk 20:31, 16 April 2022 (UTC)

Birthday Commitee Removal due to Inactivity

Imminent suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity

Information icon Established policy provides for removal of the administrative permissions of users who have not made any edits or logged actions in the preceding twelve months. Because you have been inactive, your administrative permissions will be removed if you do not return to activity within the next several days.

Inactive administrators are encouraged to rejoin the project in earnest rather than to make token edits to avoid loss of administrative permissions. Resources and support for reengaging with the project are available at Wikipedia:WikiProject Editor Retention/administrators. If you do not intend to rejoin the project in the foreseeable future, please consider voluntarily resigning your administrative permissions by making a request at the bureaucrats' noticeboard.

Thank you for your past contributions to the project. — JJMC89 bot 00:01, 24 April 2022 (UTC)

you reverted my edit

you removed my change to the 3ho page. i edited it to say it was a cult. and it absolutely is. it's not bias it's a fact. Selfundone (talk) 04:28, 23 July 2025 (UTC)

@Selfundone: Please read the neutral point of view policy to learn how we write about subjects like this. Specifically, the policy says a Wikipedia article must "[represent] ... all the significant views that have been published by reliable sources on a topic." Therefore, you can only call it a "cult" if the vast majority, or all, of the reliable sources on the topic call it a cult. If people disagree, in the reliable sources, about what type of organization it is, you can't just call it a cult in the article. "Controversial organization" is probably the best compromise. Further discussion can be posted on the article's talk page, not here. –Darkwind (talk) 04:33, 23 July 2025 (UTC)

Poppy Drayton

The problem with leaving a link to show that Drayton go married is that there isn't one. Her huaband posted their wedding on his Instagrm stories which will expire in the next 12 hours. So what can I possibly link to? Yes they are married, no there is no link or article about it, it was a small private civil ceremony at the Town Hall in Islington, England. 2602:30A:2C26:DF0:6865:67EC:27E9:C66E (talk) 15:13, 23 July 2025 (UTC)

In that case, you'll need to wait until a newspaper or magazine (or a non-gossip news website) picks it up and publishes a story about it. The policy on biographies of living people is very clear that you need a source for material facts about a person's life. It basically comes down to "we don't want to get sued if people make stuff up and put it in someone's article" so the policy is very strict. –Darkwind (talk) 20:41, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
What about uploading a photo of the wedding? 2602:30A:2C26:DF0:ADBF:7C63:B40C:C6D4 (talk) 23:42, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
