Revision of the left column

[edit]

I've moved some links out of the left column, into the list, replacing them with plain text. The reason is that these weren't links to overview pages, they were links to pages that were comparable to other pages in the list.

Besides parallelism, the reason for the move is that a lot of users are going to be tempted to dive right into specifics (the list), rather than (they think) go to an intermediate page. If they take this approach, they're going to miss a specific page that could be useful.

Note: I didn't add or remove any links, I just moved some links to other places on the page.

I will be reverting the change...not sure why you would not have the parent articles linked in the left side as per the norm [[Wikipedia:About|About Wikipedia] (all links explained in article)], Contributing to Wikipedia (main how to pages listing everything), Getting started (list of all the tutorial) Coding wiki markup (main article with direct info). Not sure mixing the parent articles in with the rest would help at all...best to link the main page in this manner. -- Moxy (talk) 00:32, 10 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
