hackNY's aim is to build a diverse and inclusive tech community to empower the next generation of responsible leaders in NYC. Since 2010, hackNY has empowered a community of student-technologists in New York City through the annual hackNY Summer Fellowship program. hackNY is co-organized by hackNY alumNY along with faculty from NYU, and Columbia. The hackNY Fellows program curates a summer co-living community for talented, creative student technologists at NYC tech companies. They integrate themselves into our network of socially-conscious alumNY at our curated Speaker Series, mixers, and celebrations. The hackNY Fellows Program was listed as one of the Top 10 Summer Fellowships by ProFellow, and has been featured by CNN, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Observer.

As I’m wrapping up my internship at Google I just wanted to shoutout hackNY.org for not only providing a place to live in nyc this summer, but also connecting me with such an incredible group of engineers 🫡 For those who don’t know, hackNY is a fellowship for students interning in nyc. I was able to attend a q&a series 2x a week with talented folks across the city - some of my favourite talks were from Partiful, Coinbase, and The New York Times Games to name a few :) if you’re interning in nyc next summer, I definitely recommend!

Wrapping up an incredible summer in NYC through my time with Oden Technologies and hackNY.org. - During my internship at Oden, I had the opportunity to work alongside some of the smartest people I've ever met and learn what it means to build products with a user-first mindset. I'm especially grateful to the team (thank you to everyone for your guidance!) and a huge shoutout to my mentor Damian Lim for the support and care throughout the summer. I’m also excited to share that I’ll be continuing my journey with Oden part-time this fall, working on an AI assistant that helps frontline workers in manufacturing make better decisions with real-time support. - On the other hand, I'm still processing that hackNY is over. This program gave me the most amazing NYC tech experience ever!!! The speaker series opened my eyes to so many interesting stories in tech from founders, researchers, activists, solo builders, etc. I discovered my love for startup culture, learned how to ask better questions, and found a group of fellows and mentors who genuinely feel like family. hackNY showed me there are people in tech who care deeply about ethics, inclusivity, and community values. (Application opens this Fall if you're interested 👀) Thank you, Oden and hackNY, for a summer that I'll carry with me forever 💌
