Danganronpa 2x2
1
The game was originally scheduled to release in 2026, but was later delayed to 2027. According to series creator Kazutaka Kodaka and producer Shohei Sakakibara, this delay was done to give more development time, and to avoid competing with the release of Grand Theft Auto VI, which Kodaka joked he would be too busy playing to work on the game.

Myth Makers Super Kart GP
subdirectory_arrow_right Casper and the Ghostly Trio (Game), Adiboo (Franchise), Nickelodeon (Collection)
1
In September 2020, as part of a massive leak of documents and files from developer Data Design Interactive, a prototype build of Myth Makers Super Kart GP was found containing two different early pitches for the game. The internal name for the overall build is "NickKart", as it was originally pitched as a Nickelodeon-themed kart racer in a similar vein to Nicktoons Racing using certain models from Nickelodeon Party Blast, another game made by Data Design. Leftover voice clips from this prototype would also be discovered in the data for a prototype of the Data Design game Casper and the Ghostly Trio. The second pitch was for an Adiboo-themed racing game, with only two models and a background graphic remaining in the Myth Makers prototype's files.

The second, "BIBLIOGR.TXT", reads:

Coincidentally, both studios are based in the French city of Lyon, only seven kilometers apart, although no individual developers worked on both games.

Alien Front Online
subdirectory_arrow_right Daytona USA (Game), Dreamcast (Platform)
1
In August 1999, one month before the Sega Dreamcast's North American launch, Sega partnered with AT&T to make AT&T WorldNet the preferred internet service provider for the Dreamcast's online services. The Dreamcast's access to WorldNet launched as part of the US-based ISP SegaNet in September 2000. However, SegaNet would shut down its dial-up internet access less than a year later on July 20, 2001, and all online support for the console would be discontinued two years later in 2003. For the Dreamcast versions of Daytona USA and Alien Front Online, they used IP addresses grouped together in a network block owned by AT&T that were hardcoded into the games' servers, so when the partnership ended and SegaNet's dial-up service was shut down, the online services for those games were inadvertently taken down early as well. Years later, fans would unofficially restore the game's online features through private servers.

Two sets of unused graphics can be found in the game's data. One is a collage of the faces of the game's developers, while the other set is an alternate credits sequence featuring tongue-in-cheek joke roles for every developer. SpongeBob SquarePants 3D Obstacle Odyssey is a retextured version of Best Friends Forever, both of which were originally developed by Snap2Play. Because of this, unused and untextured models of Patty and Petey can be found in the data for the first build of the SpongeBob game.

Attachment Vending machines can be found in Infamous: Second Son and the First Light standalone expansion serving a cane sugar soda brand called "Pure", with flavors such as Wasabi Steak and Eggplant. This is an homage to the real-life brand Jones Soda, which frequently creates gimmick flavors for limited distribution, and have historically used real photographs (often submitted by customers themselves) on their labels, with a smaller strip near the bottom of the glass bottle packaging containing the flavor's name.

Half-Life

Attachment During the game's development, official branding for various drinks produced by The Coca-Cola Company (including Coca-Cola, Minute Maid, and Fruitopia among others) were utilized for textures upon soda vending machine props. According to artist Harry Teasley, these textures were created by his wife Yatze Mark, and Valve had contacted The Coca-Cola Company to negotiate their use in the game. As they were coming to an agreement, one of the game designers implemented the ability to break vending machines and have them spill out soda cans. When Coca-Cola learned of this, they declined to go forward with their product placement, because they did not want to encourage vandalism of their machines or "have people think you can get a ton of free sodas if you bash a Coke machine with a crowbar." Mark replaced the branding with the generic textures that appear in the final game.

Zapper: One Wicked Cricket!
1
Zapper: One Wicked Cricket! was noted in reviews for being a spiritual successor to Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge, a game also developed by Blitz Games under contract by Hasbro Interactive in 2000. The following year, Hasbro Interactive was acquired by Infogrames, and their license for the Frogger IP granted to them by Konami in the late 1990s expired. This prevented Blitz Games from using the IP again despite later pitches for new Frogger games, resulting in them developing Zapper as a new IP with similar gameplay.

The North American box art features Zapper smirking with a raised eyebrow with a temple in the background and Maggie in the corner. The PAL box art instead has Zapper making a blank, determined expression alone in a dark forest.

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair
subdirectory_arrow_right Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony (Game)
1
In Japan, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony are known as "Super Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Academy" and "New Danganronpa V3: Everyone's New Semester of Killing" respectively. According to Danganronpa 2 director Takayuki Sugawara, the "Super" prefix was chosen by the second game's staff to indicate that they wanted to improve and surpass the first game, having been inspired by Famicom and Super Famicom games they grew up playing. According to series creator Kazutaka Kodaka, the "New" prefix was added to Danganronpa V3's title to continue this trend in anticipation of the game's reveal at a Sony press conference in September 2015.

During the 16-bit era of video games, it was a regular practice for developers to include the adjective "Super" in the titles of sequels to older games for the same reasons it was added to Danganronpa 2, which expanded on the lore of the first game while changing other gameplay elements. In the modern era of video games, this trend evolved into adding the word "New" (新, "shin") instead to indicate that it is a new spin on an older game, which Danganronpa V3 did to show it was meant to be a new take on the series formula while being almost disconnected from the lore of previous games.

Marvel's Spider-Man
subdirectory_arrow_right Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (Game), Marvel's Wolverine (Game)
3
The Spider-Man and Wolverine games developed by Insomniac Games are established to take place in Earth-1048 in Marvel's multiverse. This reality designation was first established in the 2018 comic miniseries "Spider-Geddon", which canonically takes place sometime after the events of the first Spider-Man game.

X2: Wolverine's Revenge
1
According to producer Rob Letts and writer Larry Hama, they intended for this game to take place "very firmly in the comic universe". However, they admitted to "messing around with the chronology" in order to include Colossus, a character who had died in the comics at the time, so they could have him and Wolverine perform the Fastball Special comic book move in the game. As such, the game's story is considered by Marvel fans to be one of many that are non-canon or independent from the comics' main Earth-616 timeline.
