    We are proud to share that the Tulsa Board of Education voted unanimously tonight to rename Chouteau Elementary School to Wayman Tisdale Fine Arts Academy! The name change will take effect on July 1.

    Washington grad Wayman Tisdale (1964-2009) gained fame as an all-american basketball player at O.U. He spent 12 seasons in the NBA and retired to focus on a celebrated jazz music career. The outstanding freshman award in the NCAA is named in his honor. #blackhistorymonth

    Due to inclement weather conditions, all schools will be CLOSED on Monday, March 4. Our district offices will open on a two-hour delay. District office employees should plan to report to work at 10am. We look fwd to seeing our students & teachers back in school Tues., March 5!

    Tulsa families and team members: nothing is more important to us than keeping you and your children safe and healthy. Based on the instability of the weather patterns, flooding in our neighborhoods, and current road conditions, all schools will be CLOSED on Tuesday, May 21.

    We have been monitoring the weather closely and based on the severity of the current forecast, we are closing all schools in our district on Monday, May 20. Students will not have to make this day up, and the last day of school for students will still be on Wednesday, May 22.
