Hi, thanks for your really great plugin!
I have one question about it. I use it without any tracking (no cookies aso.). At the settings page I always get the info that a “koko-analytics-collect.php” doesn’t exists at the moment, but I have added it at the root. On the same flow, I realized that I have no pageviews.php at my “wp uploads” file? Does your script only create it with tracking? Can / should I create it manually?

The pageviews file is created and deleted as needed by the plugin.

Did you create koko-analytics-collect.php manually already, or fix the file permissions so it can be created?

You can also use Koko without that file, but on a high traffic site it might start to slow things down if you do so.

Can you share a link to your site so I can check how Koko is running at the moment?

Hi Lap, thx for your feedback / the info.

Yes, I created the koko-analytics-collect.php manually and uploaded it to the root. The weird thing is that when I visit the Koko Analytics page in the backend, it gets deleted on my root, on my server. Is that normal?

When you visit the settings page, Koko will try to use/test that endpoint and if it doesn’t work (for whatever reason) it will delete the file.

What you could do is temporarily make your root folder writable, then visit the koko settings so that it created the endpoint, then check if the file is creted (by koko itself) and if so you can now revert the file permissions in your root folder again.

Your uploads folder also need to be writable so that it can generate the temporary pageviews file. This file will be deleted every time it’s processed, the endpoint file will stay in place (if it works).

Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let me know!
