Noted attention-seeker [/snark] Rabbi Yaakov Horowitz is asking every Haredi in the world to demonstrate their contempt for Haredi hoodlums such as Elhanan Buzaglo by visiting the Rabbi Yaakov Horowitz website and leaving comments of support signed with real names and email addresses. This is quite crafty, because along with demonstrating that Haredim think Buzaglo and his friends are villainous scum, the success of this project will demonstrate that many Haredim are ignoring the Internet ban. Unfortunately, I fear the opposite outcome. Commendable as Rabbi Horowitz's campaign may be, I expect that Haredim with children of school or marriageable age will be unwilling to reveal that they are in defiance of the ban.
And, along with supporting a Haredi Rabbi for the second time today, I'm also going to disagree once again with Shmarya. In his post, the author of Failed Messiah criticizes Rabbi Horowitz for failing to recognize that the Haredi hoodlums like Buzaglo operate with the support of various leaders and rabbis. So long as the ordinary Haredi remains silent, Shmarya says, he is giving the criminals his approbation. That's true, but it doesn't suggest a shortcoming in Rabbi Horowitz's approach. By asking every Haredi in the world to sign the petition, Rabbi Horowitz is hoping to demonstrate that the rabbinic mafia dons who fund and direct the thugs are without the support of the Haredi street.

Where oh where is Cross Currents, the blog that promises to be a leading voice on issues that matter to the Jewish public. Hmmm? No posts on Elhanan Buzaglo? Absent or abdicating as usual? Shocking.
In case there are still a few people left in the world who don't see that site for the fraud that it is, let me lay it on the line: Cross Currents is conservative talk radio with a Jewish spin, operating under the guise/self-delusion that they are serving some larger, or more noble purpose. They are also chronically incapable of expressing a self-reflective thought about either their blog, or the community they claim to represent. Hell will freeze over before that blog posts anything that casts aspersions on a Haredi, even a Haradi criminal like Elhanan Buzaglo, in part because they are much too busy rehabilitating disgraced Christian ministers and/or criticizing non Haredim.
