Report: Pope Benedict XVI has written an unusually personal letter to bishops worldwide explaining why he revoked the excommunication of a Holocaust-denying bishop and admitting mistakes in how the Vatican handled the case. The letter is mostly the usual condescending mixture of half-apologies, mixed with self-righteous ire that anyone could have doubted the Pope's pure and marvelous intentions.
At the same time, the Pope stuck another finger in the eye of world wide Jewry by announcing that he would not enter Yad Vashem during his upcoming visit to Israel. This is because the museum has a display which tells the truth about Pius 12's despicable inaction during the holocaust. Benedict, like his predecessor, prefers to pretend that "Pius worked 'secretly and silently' to save Jews."
In much the same vein, I have worked 'secretly and silently' to rehabilitate the reputation and enhance the legacy of George W. Bush and his GOP Jew enablers.
