How I know I love books

I have absolutely no idea what my children's social security numbers are, but I can type my nine-digit library card number into the online catalog in three seconds.

How do you know you love books?

I can't get rid of any. I still have board books from when my kids were babies.

I enjoy reading books, but I don't need to own them for the rest of my life. Most of the fiction I give to the Salvation Army 2nd hand stores when I've read them ... except my collection of Russian Classics, and all my math and science books. I guess that's how I know that I love books >:)

RENA: I'm slowly getting rid of the board books. They didn't appeal to my son (the youngest) as much as my daughters, so really, they've been hanging out for years longer than they should have!

COLD: Husband likes to keep his textbooks too. He actually pulled some out last year when helping nephew with Calculus. Some things are hard to get rid of. I only keep for keeps about twenty adult books, which is incredible, considering how many come through this place.

Each month, my VISA statement reads "Amazon" over and over and over...

I know I love books because I just donated 80 books and my children's and my bookshelves are still overflowing!

And about the textbooks, I just packed my hubby's textbooks into two boxes: one labeled Textbooks that haven't been looked at in eighteen years and another that says Textbooks that just collect dust. I have to amuse myself somehow while packing and organizing!

Because I like to access a genealogy program through the library, I,too, know my library card number by heart. I also know my credit card number by heart. It certainly shows where my priorities are!

DARBY: You crack me up! And I don't even want to know how much $ I give Amazon every month.

KELLY: Thanks for donating books! Yay! And the note syou write yourself are great...sometimes I'll put similar notes to myself on my calendar. It's fun running across them months later.

POLLY: I don't even think I have to enter my credit card on lots of sites...they basically just say, Do you want to use the same card you used last time? Hah! Actually, I mostly talk my husband into ordering things online, because I am so impatient. I had to wait to talk to my daughter's math teacher at a conference last night. The wait was about 15 minutes and I almost cried.
