Eye of the Tiger

I just finished revisions on the first half of my work-in-progress. Now I'm blazing through the second half, writing 1,000 words a day. Anybody care to join me on this 1,000 word/day quest? C'mon. I dare you.

I'm rereading and revising my draft. I'm in for the 1,000 word quest. I need a kick in the butt.

Yeah, not joining, but I can share a cool story about "Eye of the Tiger". In middle school we had a week of jump-rope fitness. At the end of the week we had to present a jump-rope routine/performance in groups of four. All the groups chose current hip-hop songs, but nope, we totally chose "Eye of the Tiger". Jaws dropped. Eyes rolled. And we had the time of our life.

You go, girl!
I have about 1K-2K words left in my ms. I feel like I'm almost there. And I'm revising as I go, so it's more time consuming. I don't know why I don't just finish it and then revise. But I like to reread the story (time consuming, but it helps me) first and then write a scene and I revise as I reread!

LISA: Woo-hoo! Let's do this!

JONATHON: Guess what. I think I actually WAS in middle school when the movie came out, you little twerp! :)

KELLY: Ah. I do the write, write, write, revise, revise, revise method. But now I'm gonna go ahead and write until I type THE END.

That's great! Go Anita!

I'm rewriting now, and I'm super excited about it. I had a plot issue that had me stuck for a bit, but I've ironed it out. Yay!

1000 words a day is do-able if one's commited! At the moment I'm rushing to an end of revisions, then need to get stuck in to line-by-line edit as I want to sub the ms before end of Oct (for anyone interested Penguin UK has taken the unprecedented step of opening up to unsolicited mss until end of Oct)
Happy writing Anita!

That's good old stuff, Anita. Summer hit from 1982. That summer, there were two songs on constant rotation when we were at the disco to check up girls; The Eye of the Tiger, and a song called Sommartider (Summer time) by P.Gassle, who later formed the group Roxette.

You know, I'm really a headbanger, but I still like these pop songs for sentimental reasons >:)

DAWN: Yay for ironed-out plot issues! Trust me, I've got my share of those, but I'm working through them one by one.

JUDY: I'm committed! And thanks for sharing the Penguin info...I'll try to find something official I can link to. Good luck on your goals!

COLD: Hah! Fun picturing you in 82! I can't believe all the blond hair in the video you linked to.

Oh gee Anita!! Thanks...the day I decide to check in on your blog ...you're issuing a writing challenge... okay I'm in! :)

DEIDRE: Hah! Yes, a challenge...write away! I can't wait for our girls night out...I may have to bring an actual written list of things I need to discuss! :)

Oh My Gunnes. I've been writing so slowly this week-- I think a total of maybe three pages this week instead of my usual four a day.

On second thought, a thousand words is probably about the same as four a day, but four is a much smaller number!

SAMI: Yeah, I did the math when Jen (everybody else, these people are from my MFA group) said that she only wrote threee pages. But that's almost 1,000 words, so Yay!
