They Don't Call Them Ditto-Heads For Nothing

In short, Rush Limbaugh made a pretty asinine and insensitive comment with regards to those in Haiti suffering right now as a result of the horrendous earthquake that has now destroyed their country and took the opportunity to take a swipe at Obama as well.

“Everything this president sees is a political opportunity, including Haiti, and he will use it to burnish his credentials with minorities in this country and around the world, and to accuse Republicans of having no compassion,” Limbaugh said in comments flagged by the liberal blog Think Progress.

Limbaugh has come under fire from both the right and the left for saying that the earthquake played directly into Obama’s hands, allowing him to look “compassionate.” The host claimed the White House’s response would bolster Obama’s standing in the “light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country.”

He also appeared to discourage help for the island nation, saying, “We've already donated to Haiti. It’s called the U.S. income tax.”

Bad enough as that is, it's the comments where the true genius really shines:

From Nation's Encyclopedia:
ETHNIC GROUPS

For the vast majority of Haiti's people, the African ethnic influence is dominant. About 95% of the inhabitants are black; mulattos and whites make up the remaining 5% of the population.

Given those stats, you'd be hard-pressed to find pictures of cute little white girls fronting a background of misery to begin with. Such a shame that this is what it boils down to for Rush and the ditto-heads.

As BarbinMD pointed out on DailyKos earlier today:
What a telling remark. Rush Limbaugh and his ilk watch the coverage of the overwhelming devastation in Haiti and see minorities. The rest of humanity watches and see people.

Woman Sees Face Of Jesus In Bruise??

Mary Massa says that after getting some blood drawn for a routine blood test, the resulting bruise left on her arm bears the face of Jesus.

If you ask me, this woman should either seek a second opinion on the extent of her diabetes or see an optometrist as all I see is the face of the Grim Reaper.

Phillyist Framed 2010

So Phillyist.com has started their Phillyist Framed 2010 and are looking for entries. I have pretty much resigned myself to the fact that due to financial reasons, I won't be entering the contest. However, I could possibly be persuaded if enough people felt I should enter. Bear in mind I'm doing this really late and there's only 3 days left for entries so I'm working on a tight timeline to begin with. No worries.

Like Phillyist Framed 2008, I found the easiest way was to select a number of pictures and have people/readers here help me narrow them down to three. I'll be doing the same again.

I created a set of pictures composed of my images and selected initially by me that I would consider entering. If you see something else in my photostream you think I should include as a possible entry, leave a comment on the photo or an email in my inbox and I'll be sure to add it. If certain pics seem to catch enough people's eye, I can narrow down to the three I'm allowed to enter.

So how about helping me out? Here's the set so far.
