Once More Unto the Halo: Reach

By GameSpy Staff | Xbox 360 Articles | Feb 12, 2010 6:40 PM | Comment

The biggest game on display at X10 was easily Halo: Reach, and we definitely weren't left wanting for info. With its more open world, new technology, fresh cast and prequel-based storyline, Reach does not feel like your average Halo game. Don't worry, Ryan'll still act all cranky when he talks about it, though. That's what he does. Read More »

Dead Space Extraction Postmortem

By Anthony Gallegos | Wii Articles | Feb 12, 2010 3:48 PM | Comment

The original Dead Space surprised everyone, instantly turning developer Visceral Games into a high-profile studio. But when Visceral stated that the next entry in the franchise, Dead Space Extraction, would be an on-rails shooter made exclusively for the Wii, fans were understandably skeptical. When Extraction debuted, however, it blew me away, and garnered critical praise from several other outlets. I recently had the chance to interview Steve Papoutsis, Extraction's Executive Producer (and also part of the team responsible for the original game), to discuss how and why Extraction came to be. Viacom was so happy with Rock Band creator Harmonix in 2008 that it paid the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based developer $150 million in bonuses. Now that the plastic-guitar thrill is gone, Sumner Redstone's company wants a big chunk of its money back. Read More »

Heavy Rain Review

By Anthony Gallegos | PlayStation 3 Reviews | Feb 12, 2010 10:10 AM | Comment

I wish a camera could have taken stills of my face as I played through Heavy Rain. While it's not the first game to engage my sensitive side, it's certainly the most intense emotional experience I've had with a controller in my hand. And I'm not just talking about tears, either: Playing through the story made me mad, happy, content, and anxious in ways that few games ever have. Read More »

B-baller to EA: It's in the Game, Now Pay Me

By Mike Sharkey | Xbox 360 News | Feb 12, 2010 10:00 AM | Comment

Former UCLA power forward Ed O'Bannon believes EA and the NCAA owe him money. In a lawsuit that moved forward this week, O'Bannon said EA used his likeness in its NCAA Basketball game, and now he wants to be compensated.

And O'Bannon, 37, isn't alone. Samuel Keller, former QB at Arizona State, filed his own lawsuit against the NCAA and EA in May, and former Rutgers quarterback Ryan Hart jumped on the litigation bandwagon in June. More messy details inside. Read More »

Videogame Character Dating Site Profiles

By Brian Altano & Brian Miggels | Humor | Feb 12, 2010 9:00 AM | Comment

Love is even harder to come by for videogame protagonists than it is for gamers. You could also always hit up a local bookstore or bar and chat it up with some potential mates. As tough as it may seem at times, at least you're not rummaging through the world of Dig-Dug trying to find someone who'd bang you. So if you're feeling lonely on Valentine's Day, just be happy that you're not spelunking into a cavern full of snakes and bats just to rescue some kidnapped princess who probably won't even give you her number.

End intro text and commence wacky far-fetched hypotheticals! So what if videogame characters had their own dating site to meet prospective matches? It'd probably go a little something like this... Read More »
