Capcom's Resident Evil 5 Collector's Edition Exposed!
Capcom is pleased to announce the Resident Evil 5 Collector's Edition. First teased last week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas, the Collector's Edition will be available on day one of the game shipping Friday, March 13, 2009. Available for only a limited time, gamers will be able to pre-order the collectible set starting today at the Capcom store at www.capcom.com. On launch date, the set will be available at all major retailers in North America with a price of $89.99 for the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3.
For fans of the highly popular series, the box set is not to be missed as it will include a host of never-before-seen collectible items not available anywhere else. All designed around RE5's Kijuju setting and the game's in-depth storyline, the box will include a Tricell messenger bag, Chris Redfield figurine, BSAA patch and Kijuju-inspired pendant.
Bringing the entire collection together is a custom made steel case with special art showcasing signature elements of the RE5 campaign - the Kijuju writings, ominous number five and two-player co-op. Inside the steel case is where the real action lies, with a two disc set including the game and bonus disc with additional special features. The Making of Resident Evil 5 feature, first shown at the Tokyo Game Show, will be released on the bonus disc for the first time. A digital art gallery showcasing the game's incredible HD graphics and impressive art style and a Resident Evil Degeneration Trailer will top off the special features making a bonus disc that is a must-have for all Resident Evil devotees.
About Resident Evil 5
From the ashes of old conflicts, a new terror arises. The Umbrella Corporation and its crop of lethal viruses have been destroyed and contained. But a new, more dangerous threat has emerged. Years after surviving the events in Raccoon City, Chris Redfield has been fighting the scourge of bio-organic weapons all over the world. Now a member of the Bio-terrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSSA), Chris is sent to Africa to investigate a biological agent that is transforming the populace into aggressive and disturbing creatures. Joined by another local BSSA agent, Sheva Alomar, the two must work together to solve the truth behind the disturbing turn of events. Featuring a revolutionary new co-op mode of gameplay, Resident Evil 5 will let players experience fear together as terror moves out of the shadows and into the light of day.
Best of Unity
Myung openly admits, "I am a stick whore." He even got a chance to see the new MadCatz SFIV sticks cracked open. Better still, he took pictures and did a full write up right here on Unity. Check out his blog for all the details you could ever ask for about these new sticks. If you're thinking about getting one, now is the time. These bad boys are sold out almost everywhere.
Ever wonder exactly what style of martial arts Ryu and Ken practice? Think you know? Think again! Unity member J. breaks it all down with a great Street Fighter history lesson on "Ansatsuken."
MegaPhilX put together this awesome fan created Mega Man 10 trailer. What's amazing to me is the perfection of it. It's enough to turn the heads of any MM fan!
Chloebs and her friend created this Power Stone PSP theme for you PS fans! For those of you who don't know, a TON of work goes into creating a PSP theme. It's extremely time consuming, and requires some crazy file types. This theme Chloebs created is one of the best I've seen. She even has alt wallpapers to DL!
Alright, that sums up this week's Best of Unity. Feel free to message me with the cool stuff you're doing on Unity for next week! ^_^
The Last Street Fighter Club
The last Street Fighter Club is done and over... It was a great event in San Francisco, and a lot of you Unity members came along for the food, drinks, and a chance to play SFIV. Hardcore SF fans from all around came to show off their skills, like SF legend and 2 time EVO Champion John Choi, and one of Unity's stick gurus Myung Kim. I went around taking pics of it all, from setting up the show, to the mayhem of hundreds of fans waiting in line to play!
Check out the whole gallery here. More pics and info of what happened at SFC after the jump.
Above is the entrance on 57 Stillman. Doesn't look like much, but when you open the door, you're greeted by a stairwell that goes two flights down full of SIN posters. But the room opens up to a HUGE area filled with row after row of Street Fighter. Before the doors opened Seth shows off his skills completing the Hard combos in the training mode for a few of the characters.
SIN banners were everywhere! On the walls, ceiling, the DJ, shirts, pins, jackets, you name it. IIIVIR Jackets are awesome in person, the picture really doesn't do it justice.
We even brought a few of the Arcade Cabinets along. And the lines were long no matter where you wanted to play. But the wait was so worth it, especially the lines with the new MadCatz sticks.
The rounds went on until we finally had to start turning the machines off just to get people out! SFC was a ton of fun, and it was hard to tell people to go since it was the last one... But, it went out with a bang, and every enjoyed themselves. Thanks to all who came to hang out, eat, drink, and mostly to come play SF with us! ^_^
YouTube Street Fighter
I've seen some really cool and new things done with YouTube, but this... This tops them. You play as Guile, and can take on Zangief, E. Honda, or Dhalsim. You just have to try this to see the genius behind it. And also the hard work. Everything is done with stop motion. But I can imagine it was just as much to create as it is to play. Try it out!
Ultimate Ghost 'n Goblins Now on PSN
You read that right, Ultimate Ghost 'n Goblins is out now on the PSN! You can download it in the PSP store for $19.99. For those of you not familiar with the game, UGG is a side-scrolling platform game featuring the heroic knight, Arthur, as he battles hordes of undead in his quest to save Princess Prin Prin. (total run on sentence) I think just having the name "Prin Prin" is reason enough for saving. UGG maintains the 2D gameplay mechanics of this classic franchise and is the only game in the series to employ 3D graphics. The graphics are beautiful and the gameplay is intuitive yet addicting, everything you want in a quality PSP game.
EDIT: Just to clear some things up, you can buy this on the PSN, but it will only play on your PSP. That means if you DL it on the PS3 you have to connect your PSP and transfer it over to actually play it.

In It To Win It
Darkstalkers Graphic Book and Mega Man 9 Soundtrack in Capcom Store
Having a hard time getting the Mega Man 9 soundtrack imported? Well, we have some good news! The soundtrack is now available in our Capcom Store. It has a 10 page color booklet including original character art, liner notes from the game's director, producer, sound production & design and the comic artists, and of course the great music of Mega Man 9. 35 tracks to be precise.
For you Darkstalker fans out there, we also have a 144 page Graphic File by Udon. Check it out here!
New Dark Void Screens
Part of coming to Capcom Unity is getting exclusive content and info on our upcoming games. These Dark Void screen shots were taken just for you! They're Unity exclusive, and show off a new stage. I've had the chance to play this stage, and it's a blast to just fly around in. See those little islands in the very back of the top screen? You can fly there. The Dark Void world is there for you to use to your advantage. You can approach the enemies in anyway you please. Fly, hover, run, or even hi-jack an enemy UFO to blow baddies to bits. Enjoy the new shots, and if you're lucky, you're at CES playing it!
FLOCK! Demo on Qore!
The Winter Flock Demo can now be downloaded on the January issue of Qore which is available today. You don't have to have a full year subscription this time to download it. You can just buy the issue and it'll be available. Pretty sweet if you ask me... You can yell, "FLOCK!" as the sheep jump to their deaths instead of into the Mother Flocker. (lulz, could resist ^_^)
Also, there's a whole Street Fighter segment where they interview Qbert and go to KeyStone II. Capcom love on Qore baby! Go DL it from the PSN now, and pick up SSF2HD Remix while you're there too, since we'll be playing a bit for the Play Against Capcom tomorrow.
MS vs Sony vs Capcom, Final Round!
On the heels of Round 1 with Microsoft, Jeff from the mighty PlayStation Blog massed his troops and did battle with the forces of Capcom. The competition was surprisingly stiff, but it was Joe C. took home the title for Sony, and in addition to a Street Fighter IV Collector's Edition, he also picked up a Star Wars Battlefront PSP bundle and the chance to take on Josh L. from Microsoft.
Joe and Josh played the first round on a PS3, and the second on Xbox 360 (both played identical Mad Catz sticks on each system). The third round system would have been decided by coin flip, but Joe C. won handily on both systems to take the cross-platform championship, and a chance to fight Capcom's ringer... I mean... "representative," the unstoppable Justin Wong.
Joe C. definitely stepped up his game to meet the challenge, but Justin took it to the next level and won in straight sets, scoring a Tournament Edition FightStick for his trouble.
Check here for some photos, and here and here to see parts one and two of Joe C. handling Josh L. The video quality is crummy but the action is hot.
Big ups to Jeff Rubenstein from the PlayStation blog (head here for his coverage and some great photos) and Xbox Live's Major Nelson for working with us to put this together. It was a ton of fun and a big win for fans on both sides of the raging console wars.
PS- Special hugs to Unity's Greedy McNasty for being exceptionally awesome, and (independently of his other awesome) sending over this cool drum head signed from the Blue Man Group to Capcom Unity. W00t.
San Francisco Street Fighter Club
Fight Club.
So... we’re talking about it.
Previous Street Fighter Fight Clubs have been pretty secretive but with the game right around the corner, we decided to blow this one out.
You find the dark alley, you head through the unmarked door, but instead of getting mugged, you’ll find a very private room full of Street Fighter awesomeness. We’ve got all of the SFIV console characters, the SFIV arcade machines, and of course some very special surprises.
If you’re in San Francisco, are over 18, and want come, send THIS GUY a message that includes your real name and wait to hear back. You need to be on the list to get through the unmarked door, so make sure you get a confirmation before you brave the back alley. The S.I.N. bouncers are… evil.

Happy New Year!
SFIV Commemorative Coin
What better way to celebrate the arcade history behind Street Fighter than with a collectable coin? Getting one is simple: You get this exclusive commemorative Street Fighter coin when you pre-order SFIV from GameCrazy. In addition to the coin itself, there's some fun Street Fighter history on the back of the packaging. So if you haven't pre-ordered yet, get over to the closest GameCrazy (http://www.gamecrazy.com/) to snag one!
Oh, and don't stick this in the arcade machine to unlock seekrits. It doesn't work. Not that I tried that or anything...
Dead Rising Wii Music Video Trailer
Back at TGS '08, we released this crazy, yet totally rockin' Dead Rising Wii Music Video Trailer. The band is a real Japanese Punk group, known as GaGaGa. If you listen to the lyrics you'll hear some english like "Dead Rising" (obviously), and "chain saw death!" My favorite part is when the met helmets start flying out. Good stuff! Watch, and enjoy.
IGN goes hands-on with Street Fighter IV
The IGN d00dz received an early preview version of Street Fighter IV, and they immediately began dragon punching their collective brains out. Whadda they think?
"We don't have all the answers, but know this; in the weeks since receiving playable code of Street Fighter IV for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, there's been a countless number of nights spent in the office well beyond clocking-off time getting to grips with the nuances of the spiritual retread of what's arguably the beat-'em-up genre's finest hour, and inarguably its most fondly recalled."
Wow. Read their preview here!

We've definitely been all over the arcade game scene recently, five of which made Xbox's Top 20 Arcade Titles. Then of course, the ever so awesome Bionic Commando: Rearmed coming at #9. I think SSF2THDR is a bit higher than number 6 though... Of course, it also came late to the 2008 party.

CAPCOM TO DELIVER STELLAR LINE UP IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2009
Resident Evil® 5, Street Fighter® IV, Bionic Commando®, Dead RisingTM: Chop Till You Drop, FLOCK! and MotoGPTM for WiiTM Ready to Dominate the Console World
Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, has today confirmed that six of its upcoming titles will be released within the first half of 2009. The line-up demonstrates Capcom’s commitment to pursuing a multi-platform strategy while growing its portfolio of titles and includes the latest installments of some of gaming’s most cherished franchises.
Throughout 2008, Capcom was at the forefront of digital download titles and is set to continue this trend into 2009 and beyond. Capcom’s first downloadable game of the year, FLOCK!, is scheduled for release in early 2009 and will be available for Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®Network and Windows PC platforms. FLOCK! sees players take control of a UFO that is tasked with herding animals to its mothership through a variety of interactive levels utilizing physics-based gameplay. With over 50 levels in single player and co-op modes and a simple yet powerful level editor to extend the experience, FLOCK!’s unique theme, clever humor and easy pick-up-and-play controls will ensure a new twist on the puzzle genre.
The Street Fighter® series makes a very welcome return with Street Fighter® IV, which comes to the Xbox 360 and Sony Computer Entertainment’s PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system on February 17, 2009, followed by a Windows PC version set for release at a later date. The series which has amassed combined global sales of over 25 million units aims to put the fun back into the fighting genre and reignite the passion of the Street Fighter II era. Everything that made the legendary Street Fighter II a global hit is back in Street Fighter IV, with the addition of new characters (including fighters added just for the console version of the game), special moves and gameplay elements, providing challenges for even the most seasoned Street Fighter pro.
Infecting gamers and completing Capcom’s list of releases for February is Dead Rising™: Chop Till You Drop for the Wii, scheduled for release on February 24. Based on the smash Xbox 360 game (over one million copies sold to date), the humor and challenge that made the original a hit with gamers remains, while many core elements have been totally redesigned for the Wii platform and audience, taking zombie bashing to a whole new level. With the added functionality of the Wii Remote™, players will be able to shake off zombie attacks and swing and throw dozens of makeshift weapons (everything from chainsaws to baseball bats, soccer balls to café umbrellas) in order to survive.
Gamers around the globe have already written Friday the 13th, March 2009 on their calendars in blood red ink in order to mark the release of Resident Evil® 5. One of the industry’s most successful franchises brings the next generation of fear to Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 systems. Resident Evil 5 promises to set a new standard in action gaming with amazing graphics and both online and split-screen co-operative gameplay on a single console.
Also scheduled for release in March is MotoGP™ for the Wii. Due to hit retail in the middle of March to coincide with the pre-season activity for the 2009 MotoGP™ season, the title turns the Wii Remote into a set of virtual handlebars as players compete across the three race classes in single races, a full championship or a series of challenge stages. Different handling models and AI rider characteristics allow ease of entry for riders of all skills whether a seasoned bike racing fan or new to the genre.
Completing this impressive line up is Bionic Commando, the true sequel to the retro classic with an injection of next gen power, coming within the first half of the year. The title will be initially available for gamers on Xbox 360 and Sony Computer Entertainment’s PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, with the Windows PC version following shortly afterwards. Bionic Commando harnesses the power of the latest generation of hardware to fully exploit the swing mechanic that made the original title so unique. Using the powers of the bionic arm to swing between towering skyscrapers, punch cars, pummel opponents and grab distant enemies, players can gain a tactical advantage to progress through the compelling single player campaign and take on all comers in online multiplayer modes.

Ask the Bionic Commando Devs: Ulf Answers Your Questions
I had the chance to sit down with Ulf Anderson, co-founder of GRIN. You may know of them making our up coming kick ass title, Bionic Commando! All of these questions were asked by you guys, the fans. I actually had some questions prepared for him, but mine sucked compared to yours.
What’s the first thing you’ll do once the game is in the hands of the fans? Party? Sleep? Cry? PWN us all in multiplayer?
Ulf - (laughs) Probably sleep, party, pwn you in multiplayer, then cry because you’re all pwning me in multiplayer.
Who would win in a fight; Guile or Spencer?
Ulf - Spencer hands down. He has a 20 meter arm reach with zip kicking. Plus, Guile only moves in 2D, and Spencer’s 3D strafing would throw him off.
What happened to the big, fat, slow, unarmed, defenseless guys in Area 11?
Ulf - We updated some of the stuff in the game with the idea of extending the game without making it too different from the original. This was our chance to develop the game further. So he was replaced with something more challenging.
Who should we expect to be jumping up onto the top of the leader boards in multiplayer mode once the game hits? You? Ben? QA Dude #47?
Ulf - (chuckles at QA Dude #47) Really the best players are the level designers. They know the map better than anyone. I don’t think either Ben or I will be on top. QA and level designers will always kick your ass.
Can God himself make a challenge room so hard, even he can’t beat it? If so, can you beat it?
Ulf - (laughs) Is God in game development? If God is up for hirer for challenge rooms, I’m awaiting his email.
What are the challenges of multiplatform development, and what steps were taken to overcome these problems?
Ulf - Well, we design for the console first. Then we add extra time for the PC Product. We spend that time to make sure it’s not just a port. What we ensure is that it plays the same no matter what you play it on.
Will there be a co-op mode for the single player part of the game in the new BC?
Ulf - No. It’s tricky enough to do a game like this. Co-op could decrease the quality. If a sequel is made, of course co-op would be discussed because you’ve already created a strong single player experience.
Will there be collectibles? Maybe on places hard to get to…
Ulf - Yes! (laughs)
Is there an option to change the difficulty?
Ulf - Yes, from Mega Hard to Super Hard! No, I just love hard games. I usually play on Normal first, then Hard next. I’m still old school at heart.
What was your favorite change made from NES BC to BCR, and what was your least favorite?
Ulf - Favorite, easy. Co-op! I absolutely love the co-op. My least favorite would be going from pixels to 3D. I LOVE pixel art. Going to 3D was obviously a called for change… but for some reason I like pixels.
Will we be able to use the Nathan Spencer skins (or any other new skins) on the online multiplayer modes?
Ulf - No. The multiplayer is made for balance. The character you use in multiplayer is designed around gameplay. This way there is no unfair advantage. I wanted it to be all about player skill; you vs me, no unfair advantages or handicaps.
What was the inspiration for the design of the Bionic Arm (besides previous BC’s), enemies, universe? Was anything a huge enough inspiration that effected the whole theme of Ascension City and everything in it?
Ulf - For the arm, it needed to feel like it wasn’t super high tech. I wanted it to look older, and look like it could work. So when you see the arm in motion, there’s all these little details and spinning gears and parts that make it look like it could be a real device.
In Ascension City, we were mostly focused on gameplay for the cable and the arm. It was also very important to choose things that are everyday references, especially the objects you interact with. For instance, if you’re using the arm throw an unknown object that isn’t real, you can’t relate it. It has no weight. But, if you throw a cab… You know what a cab is, because it’s part of everyday life. You see them driving down the street, ride in them, so you know they’re heavy and can do some real damage if thrown into something. So we pulled tons of references from everyday life like that into the game. It’s a more satisfying experience.
When you knew you would be developing this title, what was the first thing you wanted to lock down? The Bionic Arm, universe, main character, etc…?
Ulf - The swing mechanic. Locking that down early generated the rest. The gameplay came first. Everything else was directly derived from the cable and swing mechanic. I actually started writing the code for the cable myself right away. This was so important to me that I wanted to get working nailed down as soon as possible.
What’s it like living in Norway?
Snow – Umm… this is part of a running joke… Long story, but we were playing online the other day when someone thought GRIN was in Norway instead of Sweden, so we went with it. (laughs)
Ulf - (laughs) Norway? I wouldn’t know! But Norway is nice, it’s one of the most beautiful places on earth, in my opinion.
Snow – Thanks for sitting down with me to answer the community’s questions. They’re going to love it!
Ulf - No problem!

Live-Action Sakura!
Hi there Capcom fans!
My name is Reed and I am the Channel Marketing Coordinator here at Capcom. Though a few days old, I have gone ahead and translated an article about the upcoming Japanese Street Fighter IV commercial. The girl to the left is Hikari Takada, winner of a recent talent competition and she will be playing the role of Sakura. But before I get into the article, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.
Born and raised in San Diego, I grew up playing Capcom games. Whether it was spending my weekends at the local Yellow Brick Road Arcade to play Street Fighter Alpha, X-Men, and Marvel vs Capcom, or staying up all night to play Breath of Fire, Resident Evil, Dino Crisis, and Okami; Capcom games have always been a huge chunk of my gaming library. In fact, I think I’m still missing a part of my thumb print from having too many thumb blisters while playing SFII Turbo on the SNES.
After high school, I moved up to the bay area for college and eventually wound up here at Capcom. I spend my days here working with retailers, helping out at events, and occasionally putting those years of Japanese classes to use by translating articles and other interesting tidbits of information. Feel free to check out the article below or even my profile. This is a community after all and I am proud to be a part of the Capcom family. Thank you all and I keep an eye out for future posts!
Hori-Pro Talent Scout Caravan Grand Prix Winner, Hikari Takada, Stars as “Sakura” in SFIV Commercial.
http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/1220174_1124.html
Her first commercial with punches, round-house kicks and more!
On November 30th, 2008, the commercial for Capcom’s upcoming Street Fighter IV (PS3, X360) was filmed and this year’s “33rd Annual Hori-Pro (Hori Production Agency) Talent Scout Caravan Grand Prix” winner, Hikari Takada, has been selected to star in the commercial.
Cast as one of the newly added console characters, Takada will be showing off punches and round-house kicks while playing the role of “Sakura”. This will be her first commercial, but she has taken the staffs’ comments and suggestions to heart and has gone to great length to look and perform like Sakura. While on set, Takada gave this message to her fans, “I did my best, so please look forward to the commercial!”
SFIV’s producer, Yoshinori Ono, was also on set and talked with us about his decision to go with Tadaka. “This is the 20th anniversary of the Street Fighter series, surely a game that came out way before she (Takada) was born. Because of this generation gap, I felt that using someone her age goes along with a new addition in this series,” said Ono. “The character Sakura is a high-school girl, but Takada is still in the 6th grade!” For Ono, it was not that he did not want to use someone the same age as Sakura, but rather, “this product is really targeted towards those in their mid-thirties and forties. When I think about it, surely some of them have children the same age as Takada. And if they were to choose Sakura, they would want someone who could do action. I saw that while watching Takada’s lessons and felt that she really nailed the part. I think that when they see her in the commercial, they will feel a bit of nostalgic and remember a time when they were passionate about SFII.” With that in mind, I decided to use Takada.
As for the gameplay, Ono aims to make the gamefor those who have been away from the series since Sakura’s first appearance in Street Fighter Zero 2 (Street Fighter Alpha 2 in the US). He hopes that the fans remember the “feel” of the game and quickly pick up where they left off.

For The Holidays
The REAL Bionic Arm = Way Cool
Mail day is always a good day at Capcom. And since mail comes everyday, we're always getting cool things... Today, we got the Bionic Arm. It came in a crate with some mysterious Japanese writing (probably a warning of the pure awesome inside), and a dead give-a-way in english as it says "Bionic Arm" in big letters.
Marisol was kind enough to strap on this prop for some pics to show off how cool this thing is. It would have been cooler if I could have found the button for the lights. But there's no obvious switch on there that says "lights." Instead I spent a good five minutes pressing things that looked like they could be buttons while it was sitting on my desk(I was guarding it from the droolers). As I was looking, I realized just how much detail went into this piece of equipment. Every rivet, bolt, screw, the hosing... It's all hand painted down to the most minute detail. The arm is an exact match to the arm you'll be using when you pick up Bionic Commando.

Good news! I feel more like being a nice guy today than just teasing you with stuff you can't have. You'll receive a Private Message from me with instructions if you're one of the lucky few who are chosen... You HAVE to be a Unity member, and an active Street Fighter fan.
And now the suspense of waiting for the message to come!
Sign Up with Capcom-Unity for a shot at getting some sweet Street Fighter swag.
Dark Void Concept Art
I've been putting out Dark Void concept art every now and then for you all to see. Today though, we got in some brand new art... All very impressive pieces. But, I can only show you one, because I'm mean like that. Well, as long as I'm being mean, I've also gotten a newer build of Dark Void on my test kit. And man, it's awesome! The whole thing feels just right, the flying, shooting, the environments. All of it.
If you played Crimson Skies, the jet pack flying is very reminiscent of that. But imagine it taken to a whole new level as you can go from jetting a hundred miles an hour, to running and shooting on the ground in an instant. This is probably all meaningless to you, since you can't try it out yet. But trust me, it's worth the wait. There's nothing like this out there. Dark Void is a totally new experience that you're going to absolutely love.
You Can Play FLOCK!... Tomorrow!
Hi all! As the Associate Producer on FLOCK!, I wanted to give everyone a heads up on tomorrow's Qore demo of Flock!
As you may have read, the next episode of Qore launches tomorrow! Even better, this episode will be available for free! It includes a video covering FLOCK!, full of details on the game. It's a great introduction to what the game is all about, so please give it a watch!
Best of all, you'll be able to check FLOCK! out for yourself firsthand if you're a Qore Annual Subscriber! The episode includes a special Qore Winter Demo, the first publicly playable version of the game available anywhere. This demo includes six levels, letting you play three of the four animals in the full game - the Sheep, the Cow, and the Pig. Also included are two of the seasons - Autumn and (of course) Winter. I think you'll find the six levels to be a great taste of the gameplay FLOCK! has to offer in its 50 single player levels (not including co-op levels!).
We're also including the game's map editor! This is the same tool as we're using to make levels for FLOCK!, so we're looking forward to seeing how you use it. As you progress through the demo, you'll unlock new items to play with in the editor. In the full game, you'll even be able to save your levels and upload them to share with your friends.
Stay tuned to Capcom-Unity for more information on FLOCK! as we'll be releasing more exciting news in the weeks to come! Don't forget to visit the FLOCK! website, and stop by our forums!
Street Fighter IV: Arcade Champion Rankings
There’s a battle raging for supremacy in the insanely competitive world of arcade Street Fighter IV.
It’s a fight between Ojisan, a relative newcomer to the upper echelons of fighting game royalty, and Daigo Umehara (yeah, that guy), revered as perhaps the greatest Street Fighter ever to play the game and recently called the “God” of all fighting games by the Japan’s renowned Arcadia Magazine.
1st Ojisan Boy 103165 BP
2nd Umehara 100127 BP
3rd Mago 94829 BP
What are Battle Points (“BP”)? Basically you get them for winning matches. You get ~10 points for weak or new opponents, and up to 100+ for beating an opponent as strong as you are. You can’t grind Battle Points (“BP”) the way you could do with XP in an MMO, however, because not only do you have to beat opponents at or above your level to score points quickly, you also lose points if you lose a match. This makes the achievement of these players all the more impressive—they aren’t just consistently winning, they are winning against the other uber players.
Although Ojisan has recently passed Daigo on the leaderboards, Daigo positively spanked him at a recent faceoff. Who will end up the true arcade champion? We'll have to wait until the finals of our official tournament in January.
Stay tuned!
