I started designing web pages in 1994 at a think tank in Palo Alto. I have had to learn and unlearn a myriad of techniques, tags, properties, syntax and bad habits over the years. When I came to really wanting to organize my extensive content on the filmmaker Chris Marker, WordPress saved the day, week, month, year, and decade. It has also been extremely helpful for my non-profit clients, who have a great deal of freedom in adding and managing their content, as well as building membership and donation functionality that is first class using plugins from companies such as Qgiv. I am constantly amazed by the growth and popularity of WP. The eco-system surrounding this CMS is absolutely enormous and thriving. I see it being used another decade from now. Current favorite host: Kinsta (NB: no affiliate relation), though Pantheon has its merits too.
