Taskmaster announces series 22 line-up by Pitiful-Flow5472 in panelshow

Richard voluntarily chose to provide a positive blurb quote - an effective endorsement - of a book that is not about Graham's writing career, but about his hatred of trans people. If Richard truly disagreed with Lineham's views, he would not have done that.

After the announcement of the new butler, I suddenly remembered that this is far from the first time they’ve tried to replace Alfred by Alert-Isopod-7310 in batman

  1. The New Look era started the issue before Alfred's death.

  2. From "Batman: The Complete History" - "By 1965 a Batman television series was in the works, and the producers were planning to include Alfred, so [DC editor Julius] Schwartz was obliged to follow suit."

So We’re Just Hating on Animals now? by synnie_poo in Scoobydoo

The only ones demonstrably hating on animals are the ones who are mindlessly excited about a real animal being exploited for entertainment

Agreed. Would've loved seeing Richard on TM just a few years ago, but now that I know he's comfortable with transphobia, it's a no from me, dawg.

Welp, that's a hard pass. A few years ago, Richard doing Taskmaster would have had me hyped, but with his continued public support for Graham Lineham, it's a no for me now. (Matt Lucas solidifies it.)

He's clearly in college before then since he's meant to be doing a semester abroad in Stars. He and Motoki are supposed to be the same age and Motoki is also in college.

Yes, but again, that's consistent with the age Naoko lists for him in her concept art. She wouldn't repeat that here if it were contrary to her intentions. In the Dream and Stars arcs, Usagi and co are in their first year of high school and they're 16. Therefore, it makes sense that Mamoru would be 17 since he's in his second year of high school.

Don't trust Google. Check out the actual manga. His age is given as 17 or 18 in Act 4. That's also the age given in the Materials Collection art book.

I don't know where people keep getting the "16 to 19" thing from. The anime never gives an age for Mamoru and the manga explicitly gives his age in the first arc as "17 or 18."

And there shouldn't be! Dogs can't consent to be on a film set, which can be very dangerous and stressful for any animal. There is too much potential for exploitation and abuse.

Real dogs should just be dogs. They are not actors. They do not belong on sound stages, they do not belong on sets.

WAKE THE EFF UP about the Platner Campaign. It's a much bigger story. by betrayedandbeholden in 50501

[–]WrithingRoots -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, because before this week, Platner was completely unproblematic. Even setting aside the new allegations, his documented, uncontested past comments and actions should have been enough to disqualify him. But he's a straight white ~manly~ man, so let's give him a million chances.

He voiced Martin Fenwick in the show Sherlock Holmes of the 22nd Century, but I doubt that's why they hired him specifically.

Budget isn't really the issue. The issue was not giving the new anime enough production time to fix errors and make everything look nice.
