Bangaranga! 70th Eurovision Song Contest huge hit with young audiences as world’s largest live music event celebrates seven decades United by Music. by NitroGnome in eurovision

That’s the lowest viewership since 2012. 35 million people decrease compared to 2025 is embarrassing to say the least, but I’m sure the EBU will do nothing to fix it..

Fingers crossed 🤞 that’s the only way for Eurovision to be saved.

Happy for North Macedonia’s 🇲🇰 return, but I’d rather have Iceland 🇮🇸, Ireland 🇮🇪, Netherlands 🇳🇱, Slovenia 🇸🇮, and Spain 🇪🇸 back first.

It’s so sad they can never admit the truth..

Also, it’s so desperate of them to emphasise the part of “35 amazing artists performing to record sell-out audiences in Vienna” 😂

I hope the EBU is happy that the 70th anniversary has the lowest amount of countries since 2003.

So happy for Iceland making the right decision. I wish more countries would have done the same.

Congratulations to the Netherlands 🇳🇱, Ireland 🇮🇪, Slovenia 🇸🇮, Spain 🇪🇸 and Iceland 🇮🇸

Very happy for Ireland, Spain, Slovenia, and the Netherlands. They should be proud of themselves.

The Netherlands withdraws from Eurovision. by Ornery_Percentage537 in eurovision

It was the right decision. I hope many more countries will follow. Eurovision will lose one of its founding members, and that’s only the start.

Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands and Slovenia have all said they won’t broadcast the contest if they withdraw.

If a number of countries withdraw and won’t broadcast the contest, the viewership will decrease significantly.

I don’t have high hopes tbh. Israel will probably stay and Eurovision is going to lose a number of countries.

It won’t be the same without a big 5 country, a founding member country, and Ireland with the most wins (along with Sweden).

Has anything been done for the past 2 years when it comes to sanctions? No. So why would they do anything now?

Which is still not enough. The wording they used is so wrong.

“discourage disproportionate promotion campaigns…”

It shouldn’t be discouraged. It should be PROHIBITED.

Will there be any more returns? by syrinidae in eurovision

I don’t think we’ll have any other returning country. As for the debuts, it could happen, but the chances are low imo.

What if 18+ countries wanted to participate in JESC and 45+ in ESC? by oszkr in eurovision

[–]Nick_esc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Eurovision rules state that up to 44 countries can take part, not 45. I don’t know why it says 45 in this article.
