The IWGP Committee
As also stated elsewhere, the IWGP Committee is the IWGP’s only continuous institution. Our goal is to further develop archaeobotany, and to support the temporary committees (i.e., the Steering Committee and the Scientific Committee) with advice, whenever they seek it. During each conference, the IWGP Committee decides upon the next conference location. If you would like to suggest a location for an upcoming IWGP conference, please contact the IGWP Committee anytime!

Founding Members
Karl-Ernst Behre, Maria Hopf, and Willem Van Zeist wrote and signed the “constitutional documents” of today’s IWGP during the first conference in 1968, and are thus considered the first Committee Members. Zdeněk Tempír initiated the first conference, and thus the IWGP.
