Performance
Pressable’s origin data centers let you place your site’s origin close to your primary audience: the West Coast, the Central US, the East Coast, or Europe. For global audiences, the edge network serves content from the location nearest each visitor.
Pressable servers run on AMD EPYC Milan processors, enterprise-grade 64-core CPUs designed for demanding workloads. Unlike many hosting providers, we operate our own servers and built the WP Cloud platform that supports millions of sites around the world.
Pressable’s data center network delivers WordPress sites with 5.2 millisecond static response times and 12 millisecond P95 response times.
High-Availability WordPress Hosting
The Pressable SLA covers data center infrastructure with 100% availability guarantees:
- Network: The data center network, including managed switches, routers, and cabling from the edge device to the border router.
- Infrastructure: HVAC and power systems, including UPSs, PDUs, and cabling.
- Hardware: All server hardware is monitored continuously. Failing components are replaced within one hour of detection, ensuring minimal service disruption.
Each site runs on paired primary and secondary servers, with the secondary hosted in a different geographic region. Automatic failover routes traffic to the secondary server if the primary becomes unreachable for continuous availability, even during regional outages.
Global Content Distribution
Beyond the four origin data centers, our Edge Cache serves content from over 24 additional edge locations for 28 total points of presence across six continents.
Edge Cache stores both full page caches and static assets, including CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, video, audio, and PDF files. When a visitor requests content, the CDN serves cached assets from the nearest edge location while dynamic requests route to the origin data center.
Edge Cache is included with all Pressable managed hosting plans at no additional cost.
Compliance
Pressable data centers maintain independent compliance certifications verified through external audits.
Each data center carries Tier III/IV certification under Uptime Institute standards. This classification requires N+1 redundancy for power and cooling systems so that no single component failure can disrupt service. Tier III/IV facilities support concurrent maintenance so equipment can be serviced or replaced without taking systems offline.
Each facility holds SOC 2 and ISO/IEC 27001 certifications, validating industry-leading security and compliance standards. SOC 2 demonstrates that security controls, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy meet established trust service criteria. ISO/IEC 27001 verifies that information security management systems meet international standards.
Security
Physical security measures at each facility restrict access to authorized personnel. All data in transit between facilities travels over encrypted connections.
Network-level DDoS mitigation filters volumetric attacks before malicious traffic reaches servers. Edge Cache includes Defensive Mode, an on-demand protection layer that uses proof-of-work challenges to mitigate bot and attack traffic during active threats.
