Leadership 2 Leadership's philosophy goes beyond simple management or decision -making, but has a decisive impact on the formation of the organization's soul and brand's essence. If the company is compared to the finite body, the brand can be compared to an infinite soul, which is the leader's philosophy that inspires and grows this soul. 1. The core value and identity of the brand: -Establishment of authenticity and trusted identity: Effective leadership brands start from authenticity. The leader must recognize his strengths and weaknesses correctly and clearly define the core values. The value, philosophy, and behavior of leaders form a 'trusted identity', not just image management, which is the basis for increasing the reliability of the brand. -Leader's vision and brand growth: The brand grows as much as the leader's vision. If the leader's vision and philosophy are altered or contaminated, it can also have a negative effect on the value and direction of the brand. Conversely, the philosophy of a firm and consistent leader presents a clear direction for the brand and delivers a consistent message to the customer to establish a strong brand identity. 2. Branding of CEO identity and organizational culture: -The importance of CEO identity: The management direction and identity of the organization can be included in various elements that make up the individual CEO, which is called 'CEO identity'. This identity goes beyond the CEO's external image and finds the answer to the internal members what CEOs will be seen, and provides a solution to how the members will be able to empathize and accept the established identity. In other words, the CEO identity is an important communication content that strengthens the cohesion of members and enhances loyalty to the organization. -Sustainable leadership and wellness: Healthy lifestyles and wellness of leaders are also practical expressions of leadership philosophy. The appearance of this leader penetrates into a culture inside the organization, which affects the fraud and productivity of the staff, which can eventually have a positive impact on the brand image that appears outside. In summary, leader's philosophy defines the essential value of a company, clarifies the brand's aim, and plays a very important role in building consistent trust and identity inside and outside. Without the firm philosophy of the leader, the brand is difficult to maintain the long -term vitality. I have always believed jingles are underestimated in brand building. Especially by senior leaders. Because jingles feel tactical. Old school. Too simple. My experience says otherwise. A good jingle does what many campaigns fail to do. It enters memory without asking permission. I saw this first-hand at Kingfisher Airlines. The brand promise was about joy, warmth, and flying made pleasurable. The music carried that promise effortlessly. You did not need to read a line of copy. The moment you heard it, you felt the brand. That is not creativity. That is mental availability. I have seen the same effect in very different categories. Airtel used music to signal progress and optimism across decades. Campaigns changed. The sound stayed familiar. Asian Paints reinforced warmth and home through sound as much as visuals. The jingle did emotional heavy lifting quietly. Britannia built trust across generations partly because the sound stayed consistent even as products evolved. What jingles do well is simple. They compress emotion. They repeat without fatigue. They travel across media without explanation. In my experience, brands struggle when they treat sound as an execution detail. Sound is identity. Logos change. Campaigns refresh. But memory is stubborn. A strong jingle stays. I often ask this now. If customers heard your brand before they saw it, would they recognise it instantly. WINNER: BIRKENSTOCK maintains their sourcing for their cork for the soles of the shoes in Europe. They have been sourcing this cork and some of the other primary materials leather and felt for centuries in Europe. Therefore they are also manufacturing their shoes in Europe and not Asia. During covid shutdown they maintained operating factories because they could still get materials to the factories in Europe to keep them operating. GOOD TO KNOW: The most important material for our footbed in terms of volume is natural cork. This substance comes from punching scrap left over from the production of wine corks. The punching scrap is ground several times and sieved to grain size. We only use high-quality pure and expensive natural cork. Because of its extraordinary properties cork is very popular as a universal raw material. Cannes Lions is on fire 🔥 (literally, it’s 37 degrees!) What I like the most about it, together with connecting with the best minds in the industry, is seeing all the work from different brands, categories and companies from all around the world and get inspiration from. Some insights nuggets: - LEARN THE IMPERFECT TENSE: don’t be afraid to explore the aspects of the brand that could be seen as challenging or complex. Addressing the imperfections can drive authenticity, engagement and uniqueness. - DON’T CHASE IMPRESSIONS. MAKE AN IMPRESSION: the frantic quest for impressions might overshadow the real goal, that is to make a remarkable impression that lasts and that is meaningful to consumers. Keep that front of mind. - CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM: while most brands explore the more positive human emotions (joy, love, humor) others are being successful in making the bold choice of exploring a wider spectrum of emotions that humans also relate with: sadness, fear, failure. People relate to a variety of emotions, and it can be powerful if well captured.  - KEEP THE CONSUMER IN COPY: The notion of keeping consumers in copy of the conversations is making sure they actively participate in the communication. Brand-out one-way conversations won’t go very far. - THINK LIKE MARKETERS. ACT LIKE CREATORS: Be very strategic and know what the brand objectives are. But execute like a creator: fast, agile, dynamic, hot in culture, data-driven and technology embedded. - PERPETUAL, BUT IN THE MOMENT: the brand idea and strategy are timeless, but the execution is timely. 🎾 Performance, Presence, Purpose. This week reminded me once again why strategic brand collaborations matter. With the Berlin Tennis Open taking place in the city and some of the world’s most inspiring athletes in town, we had the opportunity to shape something special: The Players Night at #KaDeWe – an evening that brought together 300 invited guests to mark the beginning of a tournament that stands for excellence, elegance, and ambition. For me, collaborations like this go far beyond event marketing. They allow a brand like KaDeWe to take on a curatorial role: To create meaningful intersections between sport, fashion, and culture – and to reinforce the idea that a department store today is not just a commercial space, but a cultural platform.
