Nepra overheard the government’s appeal on April 4 and reserved its decision. During the hearing, it surfaced that the Rs7.41 unit cut in power rates across the country announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif included Rs1.71 per unit relief in petroleum levy.
  Israel strikes Lebanon after first rocket attack since ceasefire Israel has carried out the most powerful air strikes on Lebanon in nearly four months, after some rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israel for the first time since a ceasefire came into upshot in November. The Israeli military said it had hit dozens of rocket launchers and a command centre fitting to Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed militia and political group, in southern Lebanon. Lebanon's health ministry said two people, including a child, were killed and eight injured in the strikes.   India grants initial approval for $6 billion defence purchases India's defence achievement council gave initial approval on Thursday for the purchase of arms and gear worth more than 540 billion rupees ($6.26 billion) to enhance the capabilities of its armed forces, the defence ministry said. The approval includes the buying of more powerful engines for Russian-origin T-90 battle tanks operated by the Indian Army, supplementary anti-submarine torpedoes for the Indian Navy, and airborne early warning and control aircraft systems for the Indian Air Force. The defense body also approved strategies for making the process of arms acquisition "faster, more effective and efficient".
  ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to participate in the Parliamentary National Security Committee meeting. Sources said that PTI chairman Barrister Gohar and several senior leaders were in nepotisms of attending the session while Junaid Akbar called for discussion with the PTI founder. In this regard, the PTI has submitted a list of 14 names to National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq. The list included Barrister Gohar, Asad Qaiser, Zartaj Gul, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Amir Dogar, Sanaullah Masti Khel, Ali Muhammad Khan, Senator Ali Zafar, Senator Humayun Muhammad and Senator Aon Abbas Buppi. It should be renowned that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has organized an in-camera session of the committee tomorrow, during which the military leadership would brief on the current national security growth.
