The Dominant Seven Jazz Combo is a seven-piece student-led jazz combo from Ottawa, Canada. Made up of seven high school students from Longfields-Davidson Heights Secondary School, the group has performed at the Capital Region MusicFest, earning a Silver Standard. The group consists of (in alphabetical order): Aaron Chung on clarinet, Braylon Chung on trombone and flute, Claire Gardner on vocals (occasionally), Lakshay Kochhar on baritone saxophone, Jacob Weinheimer on bass, Liam Xu on piano, and Lucas Xu on drums. The combo has earned a Capital Region MusicFest Silver Standard as well as a Kiwanis Music Festival Gold Award, all while being entirely student-led. The group has been playing together for a year and are all members of the Longfields-Davidson Heights Senior Jazz Band. Several of our members have also been members of the Ottawa Junior Jazz Band (OJJB), and the Nepean All City Jazz Band.
