Inside Burgundy
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy is the culmination of my years of exploring and tasting Burgundy – firstly with Morris & Verdin Ltd and then with Berry Bros & Rudd – getting to know the people, the vineyards and the wine. Following the success of my book Inside Burgundy (First Edition 2010, Second Revised Edition 2021, both winners of the André Simon Prize), we created this website in 2018 to share my expertise especially in the form of myriad tasting notes on Burgundy wines of recent and past vintages.
I am delighted to have been joined by gifted critics reporting on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines from other countries such as new Zealand and Australia. Together, we are the only critics to employ the dual system of rating wines by both scores (referencing quality on an absolute scale) and stars which reward those who perform at the top of their individual class – making sure that even a humble Bourgogne Rouge or Blanc gets its time in the sun if beautifully executed.
