About the author

Antarik Anwesan grew up in Sambalpur, India. A journalism graduate, he initially embraced a career in digital media in Mumbai. However, the allure of travel and storytelling led him to chart a new course. At the age of 24, he inadvertently took a bold step, bidding farewell to the corporate world to embark on a transformative journey. In 2017, one of his travel stories earned a spot in an international anthology, as one of the ‘80 most inspirational travel stories’ from around the world.
Eventually, he ventured into the realm of video storytelling, fueled by a love for shooting and editing travel content. When he's not busy documenting adventures or pouring over Google Maps planning his next one, Antarik can be found in Himalayan towns, contemplating life, love, and the exact number of steps to the nearest momo shop.

A Book about Exploring the World with Wonder and Curiosity
Reviewed in India on 13 October 2024The book 'Baatein Beyond Borders' is written with such vividness that it transports you to another world. The way Antarik Anwesan describes his experiences is mesmerising, there's a unique, almost magical quality to the narrative that doesn't just take you to new places but also offers a refreshing, positive approach to viewing the world and understanding people from different walks of life.
The book exudes a warmth and depth that reminds me of the classic cartoons we grew up watching, the kind that made us see the world with wonder and curiosity. I genuinely hope someone reads this and decides to turn this book into an animated series.
This book is for everyone - whether you're an avid traveler, passionate about exploring, or even someone who hasn't traveled much at all. It's not just the author's travelogue; it's a window into different cultures, people, and life experiences that will leave you with a renewed appreciation for the world around you.

Perfect Travel Companion!
Reviewed in India on 16 July 2024This book is not about helping you plan the travel itinerary but it would make you call your friends or book a flight/train or take your car, pack your bags and go on your way to create memorable memories for yourself.
Even though this book has multiple stories, the author has managed to keep the charm intact with his own way of describing the experience. And in fact the more pages you turn, the charm gets stronger and you connect more with the author and the places.
Author takes you to places, whether Either you would want to re-visit them if you have already been there but this time with author’s POV, OR you would want to add it in your “to-visit” bucket list.
Along with every story, characters from the book though present in each individual chapter - you would feel that you know them or you feel certain connection with them. Author has managed it well.
Highly recommend !!

Real life heart touching travel stories perspicuously told
Reviewed in India on 25 March 2024A young solo traveler goes around the world all alone, meets people, makes friendships, does unexpected adventures, celebrates personal occasions with strangers and a lot more. All these have been very lucidly described by the author in this autobiographical collection. Each Chapter in the book opens in a different location, with different people. Conversations flow like smooth flowing rivulets and friendships are made and cemented. It is difficult to put down the book once you start reading it. You will feel like thumbing through the 200 plus pages in one go. You might have visited the places but the manner in which the author has visited and delineated them is something unique. I am sure the reader will find the book really interesting. This is a travelogue with some difference. The book has been edited meticulously and all credit goes to the editor. Overall a very well written collection of memoirs which can keep the reader engrossed. Good quality papers, immaculate printing and production by the publishers are laudable. You will not regret by purchasing this autobiographical travelogue. Happy reading.

Living and & enjoying those past moments of Antaric
Reviewed in India on 1 May 2024I went through the book.Antarik has described the conversation with the locals and incidents during his trip to beautiful places in a very lucid language. On reading the stanzas I find myself boarded in the same cart in which Anwesan was. The vivid description makes it possible to enjoy those moments by just reading the book at your home. Hence, this book is very nice , entertaining full of live information for those who wants to capture those moments by just reading the book. Hence, it is worth reading.

Reviewed in the United States on 1 April 2024What a simple but powerful thing to say! In the gentle strokes of black on white, Antarik invites us on a heartfelt odyssey, where every turn of the page unveils breathtaking landscapes, soul-stirring encounters, and a love story as timeless as the stars above. Through his introspective lens, he reveals the depths of his being, the places that resonated with his soul, and the profound connections that shaped his journey.
From the majestic peaks of the Himalayas to the tranquil shores of Munroe Island, each locale in his narrative sings with its own melody, leaving an indelible imprint upon his heart and the reader's. Yet, it is the people he encountered along the way who truly left a mark on his life and helped him find his path. This book gives a peek into their stories, their laughter, their tears—both joyous and sorrowful—all intertwined with his own quest for self-discovery. In their shared moments, he finds solace, wisdom, and a kinship that transcends language and culture.
Through the pages of his book, Antarik extends a heartfelt invitation to embark on a voyage of the soul—a journey that pushes geographical boundaries and touches the depths of the human spirit, the never ending generosity of beings. With every word penned, he reminds us of the transformative power of connection, the enduring legacy of love, and the universal language of kindness that unites us all. What truly touches my heart about Antarik is his unwavering courage to live life on his own terms, even when faced with the pressures of conforming to societal norms. Through his honesty and authenticity, he shows us the beauty of embracing our true selves, despite the challenges that may come our way. We often forget that pleasure in itself cannot give our existence meaning; thus the lack of pleasure cannot take away meaning from life. That life is not just something, it is the opportunity for something.
Antarik, thank you for sharing your truth, through you, may we find not only inspiration but also a deeper understanding of the beauty that lies within and around us.

Reviewed in the Netherlands on 20 August 2024An incredible read! If you've ever felt nervous about traveling alone or wondered how to start a conversation with strangers in a new place, this book is for you. The author, an introverted wanderer, shares a decade's worth of adventures in such a relatable way, with his evolution from anxious planner to confident improviser.
From rafting in the most dangerous stretch of the Ganges to trekking to the Everest, the stories are packed with fascinating details and unique experiences and adventures. But it’s not just about the places visited, but about the people met and the meaningful conversations and moments shared. I loved how the book balances the excitement of discovery with a personal quest for inner peace, all while dealing with the realities of budgeting and unconventional career paths.
This book is more than a travel diary; it will definitely feed your travel bug, by inspiring a deep love for the unknown and the magic of human connection. "Baatein Beyond Borders" left a lasting impact on me, and I think it will do the same for you. If you enjoy heartfelt travel stories and offbeat adventures, definitely give this one a read!
I only wish there were some footnotes explaining some Indian terms that might not be familiar to foreigners. It would have also been great if some of the stories included a link to the corresponding YouTube video (the author has a great YouTube travel channel). For example I saw his Annapurna Base Camp trek video after reading the chapter, and it just added so much to it, being able to see the places he talked about! Perhaps for a second edition? :)

Loved the story telling, curiosity driven anecdotes which always leave hints of joy from sharing experiences with strangers. The writer sits right next to you as you read through the stories and just leaves you impressed and longing you to break out of your own shell and book your tickets!
The writer proves again and again, that all you to need to travel is your own spirit. The book convinces you that you don’t need to overly plan your travel or your life, the best experiences come when you simply open up your time to chance and embrace as much as you can of the unknown.
