This book tells an inspiring story of the author who was brought up in Communist Czechoslovakia in the 1980s and follows her transition to the United Kingdom to start a new life of infinite possibilities. As a learner and teacher of English as a second language her experience of adapting to a new culture is shared by so many immigrants arriving in a bewildering new world.
This is a journey in a truest sense not only from one country to another filled with mind-blowing coincidences, and extraordinary discoveries but also from shedding the old assumptions she had about herself and becoming a whole new person in a whole new country.

I couldn’t put the book down until I turned the last page. I know the story is authentic and sincere. I let the power of Beata’s story be exerted on me and that felt good.

A reader is invited to join Beata in her quest of finding sense of several events.

She chronologically shares her innermost feelings as her life journey unfolds. Beata wholeheartedly wants a reader to benefit from her experience… That’s what true teachers do…. They want their students to excel and be whole…. That’s what Beata’s story is about.

I could not put the book down. It was full of strength, love and hope.

A well written true story of a world of communism and determination.

God is woven intricately into Beata’s life and consequently leaves the fragrance of Jesus in your heart as you finish the book.

Thank you for sharing your powerful testimony Beata 🙏

I found this a very engaging read, and was struck by how the author told her remarkable personal story with such honesty and openness. Beata’s courage, determination, faith, compassion and zest for life are prominent throughout, and her journey of healing, hope, and self-discovery and identity I found both challenging and inspiring.
