SACRAMENTO, CA – Assemblywoman Lisa Calderon (D-Whittier) and Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Irvine) issued the following statement in response to the report filed yesterday by the California Earthquake Authority, pursuant to SB 254 (2025):

(Sacramento, CA) — Assemblymember Lisa Calderon introduced Assembly Bill (AB) 2299 to establish the California Antihunger Response and Employment Training (CARET) Act.

(Sacramento, CA) — Assemblymember Lisa Calderon (D-Whittier) introduced AB 2517 to improve the Fire Hazard Severity Zone Designation Process (FHSZ). Under current law, FHSZ designations in local responsibility areas are required to be “periodically” reviewed. 

(Sacramento, CA)—Assemblymember Calderon (D-Whittier) introduces AB 2647 to update California’s nuclear moratorium to help address climate change and meet the State’s energy demands. It clarifies that the state’s ban on new nuclear power plants does not apply to advanced reactors licensed by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission after January 1, 2005.

(Sacramento, CA) — Assemblymember Lisa Calderon (D-Whittier) introduced AB 2043 which will establish the Countering Unmanned Aircraft Systems Task Force to be convened by the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES).

(Sacramento, CA) — Assemblymember Lisa Calderon introduced AB 1940 to update the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) to explicitly include menopause within the definition of “sex” and strengthen employee awareness of workplace protections. The bill also requires updated workplace notices and statewide outreach on menopause-related employment rights.
