Job Summary
The Communications Director is a senior, hands-on leader responsible for shaping and executing
iQor’s internal and external communications strategy. This role spans corporate messaging,
executive visibility, employee communications, and media positioning.
Reporting to the VP of Strategic Communications, this role leads a small team while also serving as
a primary contributor, owning key deliverables end-to-end. The ideal candidate translates business
priorities into actionable strategies, clear messaging, and disciplined execution.
This role requires the ability to operate at both a strategic and tactical level: setting direction,
building communication frameworks and calendars, and personally writing, editing, and delivering
high-quality communications across channels.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute integrated internal and external communications strategies aligned
with business priorities and brand positioning.
• Translate company objectives into clear messaging frameworks, communication plans, and
executive-ready narratives.
• Establish and manage communication calendars, priorities, and workflows to ensure
consistent, on-time execution.
• Provide clear, concise direction to leadership, including briefings, timelines, and high-level
overviews.
• Serve as a lead writer and editor, developing executive messaging, internal
communications, thought leadership, and corporate narratives.
• Personally draft and refine key materials, including corporate announcements, crisis
communications, M&A messaging, and award submissions.
• Ensure messaging is consistent and aligned across internal and external audiences.
• Oversee internal communications channels and programs, including leadership
communications, town halls, and major company updates.
• Guide media strategy and external positioning, supporting earned media efforts.
• Contribute to social and web content development, optimizing for SEO and evolving AI driven search and discovery (AEO/GEO).
• Support executive visibility, including speaking narratives and external messaging.
• Lead communications for high-impact initiatives, including organizational changes,
acquisitions, and major corporate milestones.
• Manage and mentor a small communications team, ensuring strong output, accountability,
and development.
• Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, HR, Social, Events, and Creative teams to align
messaging and execution.
• Track performance and establish measurement frameworks to continuously improve
communications effectiveness.
Skills & Experience
• 8–12+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or strategic
communications.
• Proven ability to develop strategy and execute independently, with a strong portfolio of
personally written work.
• Experience managing both internal and external communications in complex or global
organizations.
• Exceptional writing and editorial skills across formats, with strong command of AP Style.
• Demonstrated experience in media relations, executive communications, and high-visibility
initiatives.
• Experience supporting organizational change, M&A, crisis communications, or brand
campaigns.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize, structure, and manage
multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Experience leading or mentoring team members while remaining a hands-on contributor.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and executive presence.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a strong bias toward
execution.
Education
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a
related field.
