II of the 1987 Constitution provides that the State shall protect and advance the right of the people to a balance and healthful ecology in accordance with the rhythm and harmony of nature.![]()
National Greening Program
E.O. 26 is the President’s response to worldwide concern on global warming. It aims to plant 1.5B trees in 1.5M hectares within 2011 to 2016 to areas covering forestlands, mangrove and protected areas, ancestral domains, civil and military reservations, urban areas under greening plan of LGUs, inactive and abandoned mine sites, and other suitable lands within public domain.![]()
