Approved on February 1, 2017 - Declaring a Moratorium on the Operation Aquaculture Structures within the Laguna de Bay Region. Section 16, Art. II of the 1987 Constitution provides that the State shall protect and advance the right of the people to a balance and healthful ecology in accordance with the rhythm and harmony of nature.
National Greening Program
E.O. 26 is the President’s response to worldwide concern on global warming. It aims to plant 1.5B trees in 1.5M hectares within 2011 to 2016 to areas covering forestlands, mangrove and protected areas, ancestral domains, civil and military reservations, urban areas under greening plan of LGUs, inactive and abandoned mine sites, and other suitable lands within public domain.

The fundamental requisites of good governance and the rule of law,aided by an informed citizenry that must do their part, are critical in addressing climate change and its impacts and in promoting the resiliency and the adaptive development of the Laguna Lake Basin and Region which, all told, is the political, economic and ecological epicenter of the country.

LLDA was created by Republic Act No. 4850 (as amended by Presidential Decree 813), AN ACT CREATING THE LAGUNA LAKE DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, PRESCRIBING ITS POWERS, FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES, PROVIDING FUNDS THEREOF, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
