Wiki evolution

It has not escaped the notice of the writers of EvoWiki that wikis "evolve". The mechanisms of "wiki evolution" have a lot in common with Darwinian evolution and memetics but are perhaps more like those of lamarckian evolution and evolutionary creationism.
Wiki evolution is guided and has goals, like the evolutionary creationism version of creationism. There is nothing about biological evolution that suggests that it is guided by anything other than natural selection, and has no desired end point.
Wiki articles can speciate, but not like biological speciation.
