ReactOS is a free and open-source operating system for 32-bit and 64-bit computers. Its main goal is to develop an operating system that is compatible with software for Windows Server 2003 and its successors.
ReactOS has been in development since 1996 and is still considered incomplete alpha software by the developers. As of 2026, the project is still being developed.
ReactOS is written in C and C++. It is not based on Linux or Unix, and uses some code from the Wine project.
