Installed the system package instead of Flatpak after reading user reviews. This program hasn't been updated since 2014. It also freezes if I try to use my laptop's built-in webcam, but a plugged-in (USB) webcam works. Cheese used to be the default camera app for GNOME desktop environment (Cinnamon is a fork of GNOME), but has since been replaced by Snapshot. Snapshot can be found in Software Manager by searching for "org.gnome.Snapshot". I found Snapshot to work with both my webcams, but this could of course be specific to my hardware. Linux Mint 22.3 - Cinnamon

Basic camera app. It boots quickly, so I often use it just to check my camera settings.

Really happy with this! Works out of the box, no issues. I have a very up-to date laptop so driver support isn't great with Linux at the moment but I got this and it worked. Thank you. :)

Doesn't play well with my Linux Mint 2.13 Mate desktop. There's video from my webcam, but it's almost transparent, and I haven't found any way to make it opaque. This is of no use to me.

It allows me access to my webcam. Using it on a HP Deskpro 6200, running Mint 21.3 (Virginia [Mate]), and a Logitech Brio. The application allows me to access most of the cam's features. I do detect a lag with it (unlike Webcamoid [that apps more responsive]). It's a simple application (it appears that the Flatpack version's different from the System Package [LM] version). I'd recommend it.

(I like it, it's simple and it works well, but it could improve a little more in some options. yes I recommend it.)

Never really worked with any of my cameras and pcs over the years. With my old hp laptop's camera, as well as with my old crypto camera, it achieved VERY low framerate (like 1-2 fps). With my new microsoft modern camera, it doesn't show any picture at all. All three cameras always worked fine with any camera-using app (whatsapp, viber, zoom)

great app, but this version is outdated (3.34.0) and does not detect my macbook camera (mint 20.3). the flatpak version works fine (3.38.0) but requires installing a gigabyte or two of gnome platform packages (not good for laptops with limited storage)

In common with other recent reviews, I'm not getting a menu bar in Mint 20 XFCE. This is apparently an "Editors pick" in the Mint software manager, but I wouldn't recommend it at the moment.
