Today, we celebrate the youth of the Cayman Islands — their ideas, creativity, ambition and determination to make a difference. Our young people are embracing technology and new ways of connecting to share their perspectives, build partnerships and make their voices heard, both at home and around the world. As the Honourable Minister for Youth, Sports, Culture & Heritage, Isaac Rankine, said: “We are now seeing more youth use social media, online forums, podcasts and other technologies to share their perspectives and engage in issues affecting our community.” From our rich heritage and shared identity to the opportunities created by technology, our young people are bridging generations, breaking new ground and helping shape the Cayman Islands of tomorrow. This afternoon’s event hosted by the Youth Services at the Intergenerational Hub brings children, teens and families together for an afternoon of games, connection and discovery, with a free Game Truck and interactive activities alongside community partners. To our young leaders, creators and innovators: your voice matters. Your ideas matter. Your future matters. Happy International Youth Day! 🇰🇾

Improving long-term wellbeing across Cayman requires a coordinated approach to both physical and mental health. Through the development and implementation of a comprehensive National Health Strategy and Plan, Government aims to improve physical and mental health outcomes across communities while strengthening support for healthier lifestyles, mental health awareness and long-term wellbeing.  Government continues to prioritise stronger health systems and coordinated community support, including through the transition of the Public Health Unit to strengthen Cayman’s national public health system.    To learn more about how Government is strengthening health and wellbeing across Cayman, visit gov.ky/priorities.

Some of the most meaningful work in public service happens within the communities we call home.    As Deputy District Commissioner, Chelsea K. The Ready2Work programme is a free workforce initiative designed to help unemployed Caymanians, career changers, and recent graduates gain skills to secure meaningful employment. Delivered by the Ministry of Education and Training in partnership with Inspire Cayman Training, this 12-week initiative offers hands-on employability training, career coaching, resume preparation, and valuable work-based learning opportunities at no cost. Applications for upcoming fall cohorts close on Friday, 14 August 2026, at 11:59 pm. Applicants must be Caymanian, at least 17 years old, and registered with WORC (or have an application pending). Participants receive complete guidance, with support available for specific needs like childcare assistance. For over a decade, Ready2Work has successfully guided hundreds of Caymanians toward sustainable employment and long-term career growth.
