Today marks a significant step for Carbyon: Airhive has acquired Carbyon. Two European companies, one mission: capturing CO2 straight from the atmosphere. 🌍 Today, that shared mission brings Airhive and Carbyon together into a single, Anglo-Dutch DAC company operating under the Airhive name. It's a meaningful step, and one that reflects where the DAC sector is heading. Over the past year, market oscillations have made the case for consolidation across carbon removal increasingly hard to ignore. Building low-cost DAC at real scale requires more than good technology — it requires sustained R&D, proven execution, and the capital and infrastructure to deploy at the size the climate challenge demands. Few companies can offer all of that alone. Combining Airhive's execution track record — including its sub-€500/tonne demonstration in Alberta and its pilot work at Teesside — with Carbyon's R&D depth in fast-kinetic sorbent technology gives the combined company a stronger foundation than either had separately. R&D will continue from Carbyon's roots at High Tech Campus Eindhoven, now focused on Airhive's next-generation "Cascade" technology. We are incredibly proud of what the Carbyon team under the leadership of Hans De Neve and Reinier Zoomers has built since 2019 🩵 As the company moves forward under Rory Brown, Jasper Wong & Chris Adams' leadership, we wish them and the combined team every success. We move forward as a stronger, combined company, working toward the same goal: making DAC work at scale. 🚀

When carbon meets clean air 🍃 We're proud to be featured as a #NewDutch story, which reflects our way of working: innovating with purpose, in close collaboration with the people around us. Because Direct Air Capture doesn't happen in isolation. Behind the Carbyon GO is a network of scientists studying our sorbent materials, engineers refining the precision components, and partners helping us bring the system into the real world. Research, engineering and entrepreneurship — together in one place. Thank you to everyone who is part of our journey 🩵 #teamearth #Carbyon #SolvingGlobalChallengesTogether #WorldHydrogen Brabant Branding Provincie Noord-Brabant Eindhoven365 Gemeente Eindhoven

We're in Amsterdam for GreenTech Expo — and we'd love to meet you there! For the next three days, the Carbyon team will be on the floor sharing our work on direct air capture for greenhouses. The idea is simple: instead of sourcing CO₂ from fossil fuels, growers can use sustainable CO₂ captured directly from the air. Better for the climate, better for the supply chain. We're looking forward to connecting with growers, investors, and partners who share our vision for a more sustainable agricultural supply chain. Come find us at booth 01.261— we'd love to show you what we're working on and explore how we can grow together. 📍 Green Tech Expo, Amsterdam 🚀 Booth 01.261 📅 9, 10 & 11th June A big thanks to GreenTech Amsterdam and Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) for the invite and support!

Full house for Carbyon's pitch at the CCUS stage during the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition! 🌟 It was great to see the energy in the room! Direct Air Capture is clearly a topic the hydrogen industry and beyond is ready to talk about. We shared how our technology captures CO₂ directly from the atmosphere and delivers it as a clean, circular feedstock — right where hydrogen producers need it most. Whether for green methanol, e-fuels, or Power-to-X applications, a sustainable CO₂ supply is often the missing piece. Moreover, their production processes can provide the necessary heat for the DAC process. A big thank you to the Dutch CCUS business community for the opportunity to pitch alongside so many important other innovators in this space. TNO, CO2-CATO, Brigitte Jacobs-van den Eijnden, Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO), Claire Hooft Graafland, Geeke Wiltink, Juliette Linn The conversations after the stage were as energizing as the pitch itself. If we did not get the chance to connect last week, our door is open. 🚀 #WorldHydrogen #DirectAirCapture #CCUS #DAC #GreenHydrogen #Carbyon #PowerToX #NetZero

Permanent removals are not an alternative to cutting emissions. They are a necessary complement to achieving our net-zero goals. ✅ That’s why permanent carbon removals should be carefully integrated into the European Emissions Trade System (ETS). Done right, this can cost-effectively balance emission reductions and removals, while supporting both Europe’s climate ambition and industrial competitiveness. But proper integration matters! 🌍 This summer, the European Commission is expected to propose integrating permanent carbon removals into the ETS. This is a major political moment for Europe’s climate and industrial future. For DAC companies, proper ETS integration is critical. It can provide the long‑term policy certainty, price signal, and demand visibility needed to unlock investment, scale infrastructure, and bring down costs — while ensuring only high‑quality, permanent removals are rewarded. Now is the moment for EU policymakers to shape the next phase of the ETS — and ensure it works for the climate, for European industry, and for the companies building permanent carbon removal at scale. Can we count on your support? Mohammed Chahim, Jeannette Baljeu, Wopke Hoekstra Thank you for your initiative, Negative Emissions Platform!

Scaling our Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology from the lab to fully operating machines brings invaluable learnings at every stage. Even before testing begins, the build process reveals insights into system design, machine configuration, outdoor conditions, material choices, supply chain, control systems, and so much more.💡 Thanks to support from Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO)'s DEI+ subsidy, our team moved from lab development to real‑world testing — demonstrating not just technical feasibility, but practical application. Each lesson brings us closer to delivering fast, affordable, and scalable CO₂ removal solutions. 🚀🌏 Read more about the collaboration here: https://lnkd.in/euxa2QyR

Carbyon announces a leadership transition to strengthen the company in its next phase. When Carbyon was founded, the goal was never to build ‘just’ a company. It was to solve a real problem — and to do it the right way. It is time for the company to take the next step. That’s why we’ve made a leadership transition to ensure everyone is focused where they can have the biggest impact. 🚀 Reinier Zoomers has stepped into the role of CEO. After helping shape Carbyon as CFO and working closely with the team through key moments, this is a natural next step for our company and for the phase we’re entering. Since founding the company, Hans De Neve has been the driving force in shaping Carbyon’s vision, culture, and technology. From now on, he will focus even more deeply on technology and product, working hands-on on the innovations and ideas that are at the heart of our mission enabling impact. 🌏 We are more committed than ever to our mission: to realize a scalable and affordable Direct Air Capture solution using breakthrough technology. ✨

GO in the Snow!❄️🩵 Beyond the beautiful scenery, winter conditions offer a unique opportunity to put our DAC technology to the test. Snow, cold temperatures, and changing atmospheric conditions help us better understand how our system performs in real-world environments. These insights are essential as we work toward deploying solutions that can operate year-round and across diverse climates. Real conditions lead to better technology to be implemented worldwide, for ultimately, greater impact. Location: High Tech Campus Eindhoven

Recently, we teamed up with Wim Peters Kwekerijen to launch a project demonstrating how tomatoes can be grown using circular CO₂. This collaboration aligns perfectly with our ambition to fully transition to a carbon neutral world and, hence, fossil-free cultivation. The next step in this partnership will be the installation of our Direct Air Capture (DAC) equipment at one of our their greenhouse locations and feed in the locally sourced CO₂ to grow the sweetest and juiciest tomatoes.
